Senate Confirms Hagel as Secretary of Defense

"seriously inappropriate"..................Hey, the guy obviously has a bigger pair than 99% of the conservatives in this country..................

Sure. I have nothing in particular against Hagel. Just saying that this is an internal Republican feud, more than anything else.

Thank you.............Somebody get's it..................

And here we have a living, breathing, example of the low intelligence voter Obama has made a career out of. God help America.

Yep! Those slam-dunk Senate seats sure make for a boring election season, don't they? :)

So let's see - you quote a Republican, much disliked by conventional Republicans because he is not really conservative, as the voice of the Republican party that considers him unlike themselves.

Oh how you can spin, bet you cut quite the rug!

Senator McCain is a conventional Republican, what he isn't is a radical right republican. However that doesn't mean he doesn't have pull in the party, nor that he was speaking only for himself.

Payback is a bitch and the republicans are nothing if not very capable of carrying a grudge. The ONLY hope Republicans have is total unity in NO. Their position is very shakey and without total loyalty they will lose the major economic battles coming up.

But keep believing what you wish, it was real helpful in the last election cycle....

Hagel dared to speak out against Bush, the war for oil, and the surge. He's persona no grata for most Republicans. Also, most Republican Senators are scared to death of being ousted in their primaries, what with tea nuts purging anyone even remotely appearing RINO.

May not be BHO's call. I think Hagel will ask to leave.

Hagel over the years has spoken what is on his mind, often to his own detriment. Does BHO think that he will suddenly change his personality and now begin to cow-tow because BHO is CiC? Possible, I suppose, but not too likely, IMO. BHO doesn't get along too well with those who are not "yes men," so there will be friction.

Good evening, Jack.

I doubt it. He ate humble pie to get in, I can't see him bailing , on your wishes, down the road.......................

Good evening, Polgara. Nice post.

He quit on GWB. He quit on the Senate. He quit on Romney. It's what he does.

Ideologues, such as thineself, often piss into the wind, while others pay attention to which way the wind is blowing...................

You're the who said the GOP's action was shameful. I thought you might have a reason for that.
You bet it was shameful. The Senate vote IMHO should be an up or down vote- 50% plus 1, not filibustered like it was last week.
