Republicans aim to call Obama's 'bluff' on spending cuts

Bohner stated that he got 98% of what he wanted in the negotiations that resulted in the sequester and more Republicans than Dems passed it in the House yet you continue to beleive it was all Obama's fault.

Yes, and Boehner was excoriated by other repubs for saying that. If you recall, repubs considered that a major cave, and knew that this dishonest President would politically use this against them. And well, here we are. Woodward has it right, this was a WH plan, devised by Lew.

The sequester was meant to be BAD so Congress would get their act together and pass responsible deficit reduction. So much for that.

Except that libs in the WH underestimated the public's ability to see that these are cuts at all, but rather curtailment in increases. Most don't think that is a bad thing when we are broke.

More correctly the GOP has underestimated the public's ability to see that the Republicans refuse to compromise and that in every aspect of the controversy the Republicans are on the side of the 1%

Sequester and public opinion? Advantage Obama. (+video) - CSMonitor.com

Why White House is content to wait Republicans out

The most important factor in this fight is probably the reality that Obama doesn’t have to face voters again and thus is willing to veto sequestration replacement bills if they’re composed of spending cuts alone. Congressional Democrats are fully aware of this, too, and that creates a powerful incentive for them to hold the line.

So sequestration will begin. Obama won’t cave. And then the tension sequestration was intended to create — and in fact has created — between defense hawks and the rest of the GOP will intensify and actually splinter the party.

Public sides with Obama in sequester debate- MSN Money

President Obama's job approval rating stands at a three-year high while Republicans' popularity stands at a record low, which may complicate efforts to head off $85 billion in automatic spending cuts, also known as the "sequester," from starting March 1.

The thumbs-up for Obama, who recently began his second term, comes courtesy of a Bloomberg National poll Wednesday showing his job approval rating at 55%, the highest level since September 2009. That same survey showed support for Republicans at 35%, the lowest since the poll began in September 2009. A poll released Thursday by the Pew Research Center and USA Today drew similar conclusions.

Where's liberal compromise huh? Compromise doesn't mean that we have to drop our principles and just give you socialists free reign does it. No, you need to drop the dishonesty and compromise in good faith first. We are tired of being lied to by you.

 oh for Christ sake....this isn't the Soviet Union....If you are so jealous of the wealthy, then I suggest you go out and make your stake. Until then the Marxist, Occupy drivel is boring.
