Proof that people can whine and cry about anything. I would be embarrassed to be so ****ing petty.

Personal insult and disrespectful.

I really don't care...and I am no fan of Obama as POTUS.

It's not like her husband is going to be in an election any time soon.

If she wants to do it - assuming the network was not forced - then why not?

Imo, what politicians do in their spare time - providing it is legal and costs taxpayers zip - is none of my business...including the 'first lady'.

I'm glad I fell asleep after Adele.

Democrats will love this since it's all about the celebrity and the Obama's are all about degrading the dignity of the Presidency - they're like the Princess Fergie of America.

I'm sure we'll hear ad nauseum all about whatever housedress she wore last night being the greatest fashion invention since the zipper.

First you tell us that you don't care, then you go on to tell us how you like it, and you know damn well it cost taxpayers to send her there. And lastly it's none of your business then right?

How pathetic.....talk about desperation for Obama to hold on to some Popularity. A First time ever.....yes tout that all out to the Obamabots. Should we really be surprised considering this is where Obama gets most of his backing.

Next year they can play it up some and at least have Michelle attempt to audition for the part of playing a First Lady.

First - where exactly did I type that 'I like it'?

Second - you prove to me with links to unbiased factual sources that it cost taxpayers money specifically for that trip that were not covered by the network and I will judge it accordingly.

Do you have access to such information - yes or no?

If she cost taxpayers millions to fly out there just to appear on that show then I am against it on that basis.
However, if she was out there anyway and just 'dropped' by the show (and the expenses for that were covered by the network); then I have ZERO problem with it.

Eh, I really don't see this as any kind of a big deal, but then I couldn't care less about the Academy Awards.

How the heck did they keep Michelle Obama under wraps?

It was done in a style similar to Bill Clinton's surprise appearance at the recent Golden Globe Awards. In that case, it was "Lincoln" director Steven Spielberg who convinced Clinton to appear and speak about his film. This time around it was Harvey Weinstein.

In a statement after the telecast, the White House didn't give up the secret, but did say: "The Academy Awards approached the first lady about being a part of the ceremony. As a movie lover, she was honored to present the award and celebrate the artists who inspire us all – especially our young people – with their passion, skill and imagination." Obama presented the award via satellite from Washington, D.C.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the execution was more top-secret than the on-screen plot in "Argo." Weinstein and his daughter hatched the plan with Oscar producers, who in turn took a secret flight to D.C. to figure out the logistics. Two envelopes were prepared, with Jack Nicholson having a backup on stage at the Dolby Theatre in case the satellite feed went down.....snip~

You don't think Secret Service was there? You need a link for that?

We have Sequestration in plain view of the nation, and she shows up for a glamour shot.

So the answer to the second question is 'no'.

Now how about the first one?

Where exactly did I type that 'I like it' (as you claim I did)?

She's not the president. She didn't even "show up", American. She gave the award via Satellite.

Nothing exceeds like excess.....this the Obama's know! ;)

Is she running the country? Is she in any way whatsoever responsible for those sequestration plans?

Wow. Talk about desperate for something to hate on.

Meh. The "Tax payer dime" thing is retarded as well....that's it, the first family should stay quarentined in the White House at all times or it's wasting Tax Payer dollars. Because that standard has EVER been viewed as reasonable before.

It isn't the end of the world but it probably isn't the very best visual to be putting forward.

Cmon now.....These are the Days of Our Lives.

"Oh wait.....that's broadcasted out of New York. :doh :2razz:

I fail to understand how the first lady can be so happy when we're on the verge of sequestration - when firemen won't fight fires, teachers stop teaching, planes stop flying, children starve, and boats sink. We have a few short days left, and here she is smiling like an anxious teenager over a movie. Terrible, just terrible.
