Michelle Obama surprises Oscars by presenting Best Picture award

I never said she was. I do believe that in the face of the comments her husband has made regarding the sequester, and of which she is no doubt aware, it's rather ham handed to show up at such an opulent affair when the rest of us are facing Armageddon. You don't reckon that's all just rhetoric, do you?

You notice that Obama hasn't been flitting around the country in his sequestration campaign tour moaning about the cuts affecting Michelle's ability to travel aimlessly or him having to cut down on golf outings with his lying, cheating, whoring golf buddy in Florida. The sequestration cuts won't affect the ruling class perks, just regular people and their everyday lives.

Michelle Obama, doing nothing more than making an appearance and presenting an award at the Oscars equals the most terrible thing that has ever happened and proof that Democrats and liberals only care about celebrity gossip and idol worship.

Ronald Reagan, an actual hollywood star turned politician, who at one point was the head of the Screen Actor's Guild, who now receives fawning adoration by conservatives and Republicans across the country even decades after his presidency, is mentioned almost daily on major conservative outfits such as talk radio or Fox News, is simply conservatives remembering the good old days.

Get your outrage straight, will ya? If you care this much and complain this much about something as stupid as the first lady making an appearance at an event, no one is going to take you seriously when you actually find something worth complaining about.

C'mon now...we could go after so much more. We actually have people arguing against this sequestration when we need the cuts and much more than a puny 85 Billion.

We have warrant less wiretapping, indefinite imprisonment without due process, drones hovering above the skies, undeclared wars, a 16 trillion dollar deficit (yet people are afraid to cut 85 Billion), diluting our currency....but you go after this nonsense?

You are better than that! I could give two cents where Michelle Obama makes her appearances. I care about what those politicians are doing in Washington with money WE DON'T HAVE, and the continuous loss of rights in this country!

Yeah, but the Oscars are what's troubling you? Give me a damn break!

I've noticed. It's the little people that have such problems. I truly don't mind her making an appearance - it's really not my concern - but I think those in the WH charged with manipulating the media should be a little more aware than the ruling elites of the effect such an appearance at such a time might have on little people like me.

I have to go have some fun - er, go to work. I will say MO looked pretty good in the photos I've seen. I will also say those in charge of media manipulation in the WH should now schedule an appearance for her at a tupperware party just to balance things out. It's the least they can do, having screwed this little episode all up. It could be an informal thing with sweatshirts and jeans all around - maybe in the yeller room at the WH. Do they have a yeller room? They should. Somebody needs to get on that too.

Doesn't matter, DOH! Do you think sending the first lady on a media tour doing comedy dance skits with Jimmy Fallon, or seeing her in a gown with a bunch of uniformed, medal wearing nobodies in the background are what people look for from the WH when they are about to lose their job?

If you want to complain, at least take the two seconds it would require to find out what the hell happened. She didn't go to the awards, she gave the award via live feed from the White House.

Sorry do you have a link to a video of Laura and/or George jumping rope on Whatever Regis and Kelly is now or doing dance skits with late night comedians. The Bush's were the people who wouldn't take the press with them most of the time when they regularly went to visit wounded warriors and their family.

Regardless, it is not outrage, feigned or otherwise, just another in a long line of leadership disappointments from this WH.
 
This isn't something anyone should be upset over.
 
I didn't mind her appearance at all, the speech she gave was way too long, though, and seemed kind of patronizing.
