Drew Peterson sentenced to 38 years for wife's death

After seeing a lot of the comments on this board saying they are glad he is off the street. I would think some of the people closest to the victim would think nothing of making up a story of a comment made by the victim if it would help convict the suspect.

After all they knew he did it, so they were just helping the police, wheather it was true or not.

There is that possibility.

Of course. But, he also had lawyers whose job it is to show if someone is lying during cross-exam. You know how hard it is to lie, keep the story straight? If someone was making it up, a good attorney should be able to weasel the truth out of them.
