Former Sen. Pete Domenici of New Mexico acknowledges having son outside marriage 3...

think it would be better to state that many politicians are morally bankrupt. Or that many humans are.

Are you trying to say only conservatives are morally bankrupt. If you are, you will fail.

Oh look, the pot and kettle have arrived early.

Bill Clinton was my favorite President. Not my only one but his intelligence just awed me.

To be fair, Clinton got in trouble for the lie, not the blow-job. He did the wrong thing. He cost Al Gore the election and I was very interested in Al Gore as President. Certainly, the actions of individuals do not reflect moral bankruptcy of millions.

I will not judge all liberals by John Edwards or all Conservatives by Pete Domenici. While I don't know the back-story I will at least respect that the child was born and not aborted in secret. That would have been really repulsive. Personally, I support abortion although I feel it is over-used. But when an anti-abortion person participates in an abortion....well, I'm sure you see where I'm going with this.

I agree with all but Al Gore.Al lost the election by pulling away from Clinton and picking Lieberman for his VP.Joe was a nasty piece of work ranting about how he was chosen. So much so,I shouted at the TV,"There is only one chosen one!"
As for Pete,he had the nerve to vote to impeach Clinton. He was right in the middle of that witch hunt!

Yeah, Lieberman was Al's way of being macho.

Do you think that politicians are not hypocrites? Most of them are. All that lying to get elected really jades them. I was just trying to suggest that we not judge half the population by the actions of a few of the political class.

I think trying to say that conservatives are morally bankrupt based on the actions of an individual (that admits they were wrong) may be an act of moral bankruptcy.

I find it funny that some of the people who made the biggest deal about Clinton getting some on the side, also got some on the side.

Domenici voted to impeach Clinton for getting a blow job, all while Demenici, like Gingrich, was having an affair.

So, no, not all politicians are hypocritical; only "family values" Republicans are

Not really evidence that conservatives are morally bankrupt. Maybe evidence that Pete Domneici is morally bankrupt.

Shall we count how many "family values" conservatives voted for Clinton's impeachment, while moralizing about how moral they were, all while having affairs?

It's a pretty big group.

This thread is the holy grail of "WHO THE **** CARES"

Manufactured moral outrage over a man who participated in the same type of manufactured moral outrage 15 years ago. Have I pretty much nailed the gist of it?

Did he perjure himself in front of a Grand Jury?

He probably did, but are you saying it's OK to be hypocritical so long as you don't do it under oath?

A new low for the moral bankruptcy of conservatism.

You posted here, so you care.

Oh I see a rather flimsy attempt to spin away from the entire story.

Back when President Reagan was launching his traditional family values, the Moral Majority was enshrining the 'sacred marriage' of one man one woman, while the 'conservatives' strutted about claiming to be the moral party, party of bedrock 'Merican values...

They were infact no better than the hippy, promiscuous, degenerate liberals they loved to flail on.

It isn't just Domenici in his 50's knocking down a Senator's daughter (who was a lobbyist), or Newt huffing and puffing about morals while playing hide the gavel behind his bedridden wife's back, texting underage pages, wife swap with the staff, interracial love child for your basic white separatist senator...

No it is the silly sheeple blindly drinking their kool-aid. I hope that eventually see the Republicans are no better morally than their democrat opponents. perhaps now we can leave divisive morality laws in the past and concentrate on the true problems we face.

I guess the Republican leadership is doing a spin-off of an old Military quip-

They support and defend the high moral ground, but they don't practice it...

J. Jackson Jr. , etc.

Your political bias shows so well.
