Report: China military involved in U.S. hacking

BEIJING – Hackers at a secretive unit of the Chinese military have stolen huge amounts of data from 115 companies and organizations in the U.S. since at least 2006, a U.S. computer security firm said in a research report released online Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, President Obama signed an executive order to improve protection of the USA's critical infrastructure from cyberattacks. "We know foreign countries and companies swipe our corporate secrets. Now our enemies are also seeking the ability to sabotage our power grid, our financial institutions and our air traffic control systems," he said in his State of the Union Address the same day.
Scary stuff. What might a cyber war between the US and China be like?

Just have them play Modern Warfare or Mortal Kombat against each other to settle it.
I was discovering that life just simply isn't fair and bask in the unsung glory of knowing that each obstacle overcome along the way only adds to the satisfaction in the end. Nothing great, after all, was ever accomplished by anyone sulking in his or her misery.

China is what America would like if the Sopranos gained control. It's Chicago on steroids.

i am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

here's another one to think about : pretty much every piece of electronic tech that we have is made there. do we just trust them not to put a backdoor in? i'm almost relieved that they currently have to hack to get in.

    Good analogy.

The greatest transfer of wealth, and intellectual property, transfer in the history of the world. Through misguided motives, and bad trade policies, we have given the Chinese the ability to inflict enormous amount of damage , economically, and military, to the country.

Going to war with the Chinese may be tongue in cheek now, but now that we have given the Chinese the resource, in capital, and technology... It may become a reality.
    Nothing in excess.
