Re: Report: China military involved in U.S. hacking

I can't believe that this thread is not overwhelmed with traffic. This issue is probably the greatest concern of anyone who can see the ramifications of what could be a reason for war.

Far too long has our government placated transgressions of invasions by the Chinese Military. The blind eye of duplicitous mendacious messages from China has modified ified the truth of Chinese intentions.

I would not want to be a citizen of Australia, or New Zealand, in the near future.

Sequester?... Childs play in comparison to this red flag warning by DC.
    Nothing in excess.

March 31, 2001: US Spy Plane Crashes in China; Chinese Strip Plane of Sensitive Equipment:

......A US EP-3 Aries II spy plane collides with a Chinese fighter jet over the South China Sea. The fighter crashes, killing the pilot; the EP-3 makes an emergency landing at a Chinese air base on China’s Hainan Island, a landing described as illegal by Chinese officials. 24 American crewmen—including three women and eight code-breakers—are taken into custody by the Chinese. The incident is the Bush administration’s first real foreign-policy crisis......

The Chicoms will never be exceptional. Just as Chicago thug politicians will never be exceptional.

But criminal scumbags ? That they are good at. Both.

Their are few things more embarrassing that watching the citizens of the most powerful nation in the world whine like a fat kid who had his cupcake taken away. Yes China is going to try and improve their technological base by stealing research, its the entirely practical thing to do. The only sensible option to focus on security programs to stop them. When China starts developing their own technology, we can steal it in kind. That is way international relations works, there is no point in crying about it.

Scary stuff. What might a cyber war between the US and China be like?
It'd be bad. If China is behind the recent strand of cyberattacks (which they probably are), like with WSJ/NYT/WP and the Energy Department, as well, not too long ago, the White House itself, then it shows they're more than capable of getting into our systems. I suspect that the same is true of their networks, and our ability to get into them. If things come to a tit-for-tat Cyber War between the US and China, which it could easily lead to given the recent precedents, then I would have to assume that we, the little people, could expect lots of bad things to happen, like, our bank accounts being drained, our energy grid going down, the loss of communication devices because the satellites don't work... things that run off computers could very well be kaput.

    Cyber Combat: Act of War

WASHINGTON—The Pentagon has concluded that computer sabotage coming from another country can constitute an act of war, a finding that for the first time opens the door for the U.S. to respond using traditional military force.

Well considering the US started this war, then I dont think American's should moan so much about other countries trying to hack the American government or companies... the US and Israel should not have released Stuxnet against Iran... that was the first shot in this war.

Hey!!!! If the USofA lies, cheats, steals, invades, sneaks into, pilfers, hacks, .... it's all for the good of the planet and morally acceptable on every stinking level you can imagine. If somebody else does any of those things, it's grounds for war.

    Why don't you understand that?
