Russian Politician Says Meteor Was U.S. Weapons Test

No sooner do we write about the conspiracy theories flourishing on Russian social media about the meteor, which sailed over central Russia on Friday, than an actual member of the Russian government weighs in with his own. Or so the Moscow-sponsored outlet Voice of Russia says. Here’s its report:

Russia’s controversial Liberal leader, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, has blamed Americans for today’s meteorite scare, local media report.

In December 2004, US tested two new weapons in Indonesia. All imitated natural disaster. One was the Great tsunami which killed a lot ofpeople. The other one was imitating a meteor exploision. Here is what I wrote at that time. The phenomenon is exactly the same like what happens in Russia:

I believe it was an experiment of space weapon. A practice of amissile cruised in space to hit the target on earth. But a missile is not a meteor. Everything would be clear if there was an investigation. That's why the news drew a tail, to hint it might be a terrorist bombing. But they could make people believe that without any practical exercises, (hundreds of hoursat least, I suppose) the students of flight school could actually drive amodern plane to hit any target they wanted. It's still hard to ensure peoplet hat Bin Laden also has a space weapon. So we never hear anything further about that meteor.

Well, considering that this thread isn't in the conspiracy forum I figured I'd offer my non-conspiratorial 2¢.

Of course it it WAS in the conspiracy section then the obvious answer is that the meteor was proof positive that some Chinese kid has just set a new record on Angry Birds.

Lol- I have a good friend from Russia whom I work with, and yesterday, she told me that many in the Russian population think the same thing. :lol: She was just shaking her head. That cold war is having a really hard time dying.

I blame George Bush and Dick Cheney.

The only thing I can say is that IF the Americans were going to nuke them, there was a lot of nuclear research done in Chelyabinsk. So it would definitely be a target.

That said...I can't really say anything else....maybe global warming is cooking his brain?

Nah- the Russians Iin general) have had a tendency toward paranoia for quite some time. It was quite common on both sides of the American/Russian cold war years, to be very suspicious of each other. When I was a child, it was pretty common to live in fear of the Russians nuking us, and we used to have to do drills at school, ducking under desks and responding to emergency situations. Ahhhhh, the good old days.

Otoh, a common enemy is good for national unity.

Good to know we're not the only country with crazy and idiotic politicians.

The west corner of the island just above the epicenter is Aceh Province.

In September 2004, Yudhoyono won the president election of Indonesia. It seemed he was a US asset and had a deal with US. In December that year, US tested two new weapons in Indonesia. All imitated natural disaster. One was the Great tsunami. The epicenter was near the Aceh Province of Indonesia, some 166,000 died in that area. Obviously it aimed at the Aceh rebels – Aceh Free Army which was fighting against the government. The rebels was hit hard by that disaster and had to compromise with the government with a peace agreement later. The other one was imitating a meteor explosion.

Here is what I wrote at that time. The phenomenon is exactly the same like what happens in Russia:

I would say again that my speculation was very accurate. Eight years ago, I conclude it’s a weapon imitating meteor. Then what is it for to hit Russia this time?

I think it is for War on Iran. One day before “the meteor falling”, Russia reached an agreement with Iran.

I allege the Feds are planning war in Mid-east (war on Iran or Syria) next month.(March) I think so not only for this “meteor attack” but also for the sudden resignation of Pope Benedict XVI. As a Pope, he has to reject any war. That's not a favor to the Neocon, especially at the eve of a war. Under the pressure of "being passed away by poor health", he retreats. He doesn't want to be another John Paul II. Or another Chavez. Pope will leave on Feb. 28. So in March, the feds would lack a strong opponent in a designated war. (see, “302.
