There's a rational acceptance for religion, and has been for centuries. It is just that we have reached the point where it can be comfortable for someone to reject its reality.

Counterfactual history is immensely difficult to produce. I wouldn't pretend to be able to do it so swiftly, and neither should you.

Or being murdered by that religion for not believing in that "reality", which was the modus operandi for montheism since it's inception..............

well, I think it is wise for him to see the limits of his body and the needs of his job, but personally I am totally not sad to see this pope leave office.

Not polytheism? I recall a certain old man from Athens that received one such charge, in addition to disseminating that opinion.

I think it has to do with the diffrence between the man and the man who occupies the office.

I'm a religious individual but it's one thing to not believe in God and it's another to attack those who do. The atheist movement is obsessed with attacking believers or those of faith...I have my opinions, views and faith but I really don't enjoy playing dictator as those of "anti-faith" and I suppose those of faith do - and certainly that is what the whole debate is about when it comes to religion (well anything in general for that matter).

Maybe they'll pick someone without a nazi background this time?

If they had any sense they'd start looking for someone off of the European continent for a change.

Right. Because Socrates commiting suicide was the same thing as thousands first tortured and then burned alive at the stake. Why isn't everyone aware of that ?...............

I know you're new here, but don't you think you're overdoing it? Short burn?
