No, those were also horrible, but the crisis precedes that.

Any evidence for such a statement?

The Episcopalian Church is just about dead. They're either leaving the faith or becoming Catholic.

It's their way or the highway.

Some of the cultish upstarts, sure. But as a creature, this idea that constantly re-inventing christianity...will live on long past Catholocism...I certain of it.

But Catholicism has evolved since it started. It isn't a monolithic structure that has avoided change. Far from it. It's a matter of determining the right sort of change.

Both Catholicism and Evangelicalism share the common trait that in the modern age most of their adherents are defacto atheists: They follow religious dogma when they can harm others and give themselves a free passgo card when said dogma gets in their own way...............

The Mass has changed constantly and many extra-liturgical activities have developed in response to counter abuses and heresies.

It should be noted...if you took the total number of catholics, and the total number of alleged molestations, the percentage is low. It wasn't the acts, it was the NEWS coverage of the acts....that killed you guys. You think none of this happens within the other denominations? Absurd. Of course it does. It just doesn't get covered as heavily.

Tells you something right there, doesn't it?

As for the destruction of mass...i would argue that that has been going on since the very first one, when Jesus fed his followers with fish and bread.

Again, the crisis precedes the child abuse scandal.

    What does this even mean?
