Dr. Benjamin Carson's speech at prayer breakfast

He seemed to admonish Obama on the 16 trillion dollar debt......Good for him...The sad part is pretty soon the left will be calling him and uncle tom.........so sad...

You're the only one I've heard use that term.

There wasn't much Obama could do about a man more intellegent than he is, who has won the Medal of Freedom, and spoke the truth.

Yes, we are too partisan and we do need both the left and the right. Yes, that was truth.

Yeah maybe, that speech was far from some kind of agreement with Obama's policies.

No one suggested otherwise. Yet, he did speak and was treated respectfully.

Cut off fairly quickly, but that in and off itself means nothing. He was invited, allowed to speak, and treated civilly. There's no real story here. And Dr. Carson's message, if you care about that at all, was for left and right to work together. What is being done but those posting and supporting this thread is largely contradictory to that message.

The story is an brain surgeon destroyed Obama and proved OBama to be a loser a vacant liberal halfwit socialsits whos policies are a disaster..

God Bless the great Dr Ben Carson.

we dont need the left.. we see what a fraud the left is...

Great conservative speech about plurality!

I loved the part about electing lawyers instead of doctors, and scientists. The former care about winning, the latter care about solving problems. He is right and I've been saying it for almost two decades that in order for us to work our way out of this mess, we need to stop electing lawyers to the federal government! His mention of an informed electorate as being pivitol to a successful government was not lost on me. 200 years ago a 6th grader was smarter than a 3rd year college student today, dug deep when he quipped that little nugget.

The truth is that both sides have cared more about winning votes that everything else was and has become secondary. It IS the fundamental problem, and eventual downfall of this American idea, OR any idea where the people rule themselves.

IMO lawyers should be unelectible as they are officers of the Court.

That means they serve the Judicial Branch of Government.

Serving in the Legislative branch is a clear conflict of interest as anyone can clearly see when they leave Congress and then go to work at law firms lobbying their former members or "interpreting" legislation they created.

Before a lawyer can run for office he should have to renounce his law licence and be banned from doing ANY work with Congress for 10 years after leaving office.

Well that ain't gunna happen anytime soon, that's for sure. :)

-Or- we could just elect none lawyers!

Considering his absolute denial of evolution and implicit belief that those who do not believe in creationism are not ethical, I would not trust his opinions on reforming healthcare and the tax code.

Not sure I get your post. Dr. Caron gave a contrary opinion respectfully, noted that you needed both a left and a right, denouncing partisanship more than anything else, and was treated with respectful clapping.

Radical stuff I say.

That's it? That's all you took from that speech? Listen Joe, while I agree that at least in the Senate that bi partisanship is an important factor in hashing out the fights that need to take place in the House, in order to pass legislation that represents all of us, that certainly doesn't mean, that blanket agreement with the POTUS, or his policies is what constitutes that bi partisanship.

Where's Obama's give?

Did you see the look on Mitt RMoney's face in the evening on election day when President Obama handed him his backside and his walking papers? Priceless.

Yes, Romney lost....That much is true. What it has to do with the here and now though is a question.

j-mac you sound exactly like one of the ideologues that Dr. Carson mentioned in his great speech. Did you ever think of putting the USA 1st and your party 2nd?

Oh please. Give me a break...Sad and transparent tactic of those losing, is to attempt to get the opposition to give up when kicking their arse.

Although the irony of a European telling me to put country ahead of party is not lost....I've lived in Germany, and saw how Europeans place party in their thinking....mmmmmmk?

"Better days are coming." ~ But not for today's out of touch, running out of time, GOP.

You'd better hope that the foundations of the US stay in tact, otherwise who is going to bail your butt out?

Hey welcome Dan. Couldn't agree more....Didn't Obama look like someone served him a bad glass of milk? Man, he is really arguably the most dishonest President I can remember when it comes to saying he want's all suggestions, then turning his nose up at anything that doesn't approach the problem as he would.

If you think that was good, you should have seen the goings-on at a $10,000 plate re-election function for Obama in San Francisco in about April 2011. After the dinner, by prior planning unknown to the Prez, a bunch of his well heeled supporters put on a challenge to the Prez regarding Bradley Manning's torture.

As the nicely dressed ladies and gents asked really really embarassing questions of Obama, he was very very uncomfortable. Almost turned completely white, he was so uncomfortable. He lost control, and though definitely amiable, members of the audience broke out into a little song asking something like "where is our change" and held up signs saying "Free Bradley Manning." The Prez would have given his left nut to be gone from that room. It was absolutely priceless to watch.

About 10 days later we were presented the Legend of Abbottabad.

I can imagine...But that is what this President does pretty well, right? When the heat gets unbearable, he deflects, and distracts.

I thought it was a brilliant speech. It's just too bad that nobody in the GOP had the wherewithal to deliver that same speech about three years ago...<sigh>

God Bless Dr Ben Carson... he is a great and wonderful man...

Oh please. Give me a break

Since you asked in such a nice way, you are hereby granted one break.

Don't make a habit of this.

They did, and were roundly labeled as everything from racists, to obstructionists, to haters....

I don't recall that message being articulated in quite the same way.

I don't recall that message being articulated in quite the same way.

Birtherism aside, from 2008:

But beyond that, the message was there both in 2008, and this past election, the question is are we smart enough to see it when it is presented?

More Dr. Carson:

Where's Obama's give?

Can you show me where I said it was? This fellow disagreed and me nor anyone I can recall called him a name.

As for give, you'll find the reason liberals were upset with Obama during the first term was all the give. He's actually ahead on that pathetic count, sad as it is both ways.

Herman Cain could've... He put the screws to Clinton back in the nineties when Clinton was trying to push universal healthcare... That's why the left (armed with Gloria Allred) did what they could to destroy him.

Poor, poor conservatives. If only they were strong enough to handle "THE LEFT."
