Even before authorities had confirmed that the torched pickup truck discovered on a quiet forest road belonged to suspected gunman Christopher Dorner, 33, officials had ordered an emergency lockdown of local businesses, homes and the town's popular ski resorts. Parents were told to pick up their children from school, as rolling yellow buses might pose a target to an unpredictable fugitive on the run.
By nightfall, many residents had barricaded their doors as they prepared for a long, anxious evening.

Big Bear locked down amid manhunt - latimes.com

Even before this story I was looking at the DP BN board and wondering why no one was posting this story....I mean, seems every other whiff of a crazy man going nuts with a gun today gets billing in here to ramp up the fear of guns....Then I delved into the former Police officer, and ex military man that was on a rampage in CA....I found this:

From Christopher Dorner’s manifesto:
Anti-NRA:
Wayne LaPierre, President of the NRA, you’re a vile and inhumane piece of ****. You never even showed 30 seconds of empathy for the children, teachers, and families of Sandy Hook.
Loves Piers Morgan:
…give Piers Morgan an indefinite resident alien and Visa card. Mr. Morgan, the problem that many American gun owners have with you and your continuous discussion of gun control is that you are not an American citizen and have an accent that is distinct and clarifies that you are a foreigner. I want you to know that I agree with you 100% on enacting stricter firearm laws.
The killer is also a huge Obama supporter and fan of gun-control.
Loves Obama:
You disrespect the office of the POTUS/Presidency and Commander in Chief. You call him Kenyan, mongroid, halfrican, muslim, and FBHO when in essence you are to address him as simply, President. The same as you did to President George W. Bush and all those in the highest ranking position of our land before him. Just as I always have. You question his birth certificate, his educational and professional accomplishments, and his judeo-christian beliefs. You make disparaging remarks about his dead parents. You never questioned the fact that his former opponent, the honorable Senator John McCain, was not born in the CONUS or that Bush had a C average in his undergrad. Electoral Candidates children (Romney) state they want to punch the president in the face during debates with no formal repercussions. No one even questioned the fact that the son just made a criminal threat toward the President. You call his wife a Wookie. Off the record, I love your new bangs, Mrs. Obama.
Pro Gun Control:
Who in there right mind needs a ****ing silencer!!! who needs a freaking SBR AR15? No one. No more Virginia Tech, Columbine HS, Wisconsin temple, Aurora theatre, Portland malls, Tucson rally, Newtown Sandy Hook. Whether by executive order or thru a bi-partisan congress an assault weapons ban needs to be re-instituted. Period!!!
Mia Farrow said it best. “Gun control is no longer debatable, it’s not a conversation, its a moral mandate.”

Then it made sense...A possible 'right winger' wanting to buy a gun to protect himself, or his family is branded a threat to society, when the real threat seems to be a 'progressive' nutjob that has snapped in Cali.....

Thoughts?

I'm actually surprised there isn't a thread on this already.

There are people that actually support what this guy is doing. Sick.

Looks like he's trying to make himself look like the good guy. Makes sense, don't it?

The manifesto was obviously manufactured out of thin air by right wing zealots who are on the payroll of Haliburton and Koch Industries. Their intent was to defame an honest and heroic American simply because he is black.

You just need to learn how to read between the lines a little, j-mac.;)

How many more threads are we going to get on this tired topic? It's partisan hackery gone mad here!

You're joking right? Tell me you're joking....Oh man.....

Yes, out the progressive shooting up police and its 'hackery', but let the libs get together to snark and chuckle at a conservatives expense and its all good.... quit cryin'

It is unfortunate that three innoecent people were killed just so he could obtain his 15 minutes. The young couple had no part in his spoiled brat complaints but they were disposable to him.
What a piece of human garbage no matter what his gripe is. I hope the police catch him soon and light him up.

Nice to see the concern of the victims in this partisan thread.

Have you read the other thread talking about the others killed? It reads like a Law Enforcement hate fest. Heck, I almost thought it could be cheering the idiot on if I didn't know better.

A hate fest huh?

Sorry, UNLIKE YOU, I do not look favorably on SIX LAPD Officers in Torrence disregarding the rules of engagement and unloading their firearms with no warning into a truck and injuring two ladies.

Yeah, I'm a hater...

In contrast to "hate", do you LOVE the fact these officers opened fire without stopping the vehicle first? Do you LOVE the fact these officers gave no warning and opened fire on two unarmed women delivering newspapers?

As the vehicle approached the house, officers opened fire, unloading a barrage of bullets into the back of the truck. When the shooting stopped, they quickly realized their mistake. The truck was not a Nissan Titan, but a Toyota Tacoma. The color wasn't gray, but aqua blue. And it wasn't Dorner inside the truck, but a woman and her mother delivering copies of the Los Angeles Times.

As bullets tore through the cabin, the two women "covered their faces and huddled down," Jonas said. "They felt like it was going on forever."

Though Beck said he does not doubt the women did not hear any verbal commands, he emphasized that it was still possible the officers did attempt to stop the vehicle before opening fire.

Beck said he had not yet received a detailed briefing, which typically occurs a few days after officer-involved shootings to give investigators time to collect evidence and put together the basic summary of what happened. But he did say that the gunfire occurred in two bursts: The first came from an officer positioned down the block from the LAPD official's residence, and the second when Carranza accelerated away from the gunfire and toward other officers.

Despite the hysterics, I am glad that both women are expected to recover physically. And I am confident that the officers involved will be investigated, and appropriate action taken. I can't imagine the stress those police forces are under with Dorner out there.

Nice dodge:lol:

Huh? What "dodge"?

You see post #15? It has two sentences that end with a "?". You responded to my post without addressing the questions, and instead change the subject.

That is a dodge buddy:lol:

I have no sympathy for Dorner, but I agree with you on this. These women should never have been shot at. Trigger happy, knee jerk, over-reaction comes to mind. It's a damn good thing these cops were such poor shots.

I can agree with that....And an investigation will occur into the incident.

No, I did answer your question, you need to go back and read it...Anyhow, this thread isn't about the two ladies shot, there is another thread dealing with that. If anything you came in and tried to derail this thread.

Reading Dorner's manifesto, I was convinced that the police officer he accused of kicking the mentally challenged perp actually did what Dorner had said. Then everything steamrolled over Dorner by administrative action. Now, I see the LAPD is reviewing the circumstances. I really don't expect them to admit anything, but are trying this as a ruse to make Dorner feel he has succeeded and need not continue his rampage. That ol' "one for all, all for one" cop mentality is inconvenient, like the "blue wall" in Chicago.

1. No, you backtracked and dodged the question(s). Just like you are doing now.

2. Derail? Don't accuse me or anyone of derailing a thread because you can't/won't answer a question. You are the one who brought up the "hate" fest (post #13 of this thread). You want a free pass to post anything you want, and claim "derailing" when someone asks a question about something you yourself wrote in a post?
