I think that voter ID would go a long way to stemming fraud, but in this case it is more about reconciling absentee voting, with voting on election day...In what world does anyone that voted absentee, think it is ok to show up on election day and cast an in person ballot as well? Then to say:

"Absolutely. Absolutely, I'll fight it for Mr. Obama and for Mr. Obama's right to sit as president of the United States."

Obama's right? Well, if he isn't elected fairly then he has no right to sit as President, no?

Why make voter ID less important than that for checking out a library book?

    Get a Library Card

Your link didn't say a person needed photo ID to get a library card.

What kind of identification will I need to provide?Applicants over the age of 18 must provide either a driver's license or state ID card with a current address, a birthdate, and a signature. If your photo ID does not have your current address, then one of the following that shows your current address will be required:...

Yes, it does. But the first and most desired by the Library system is a photo ID, with current address.

But you can get a library card without one.

Two words for you : Fake ID. Relatively easy to get, and really just moves electoral fraud back into an area that's easily controlled by the parties. They have the resources.

I'm good with preventing electoral fraud, but lets concentrate on actually stopping it instead of rushing into something just because one of the two parties vehemently supports it. Which is exactly what I think of assault weapons bans before you turn it back there.
