Ahmadinejad says he is ready to be first Iranian in space

I said "If he goes to the moon... and lands there, will it be traspassing on US soil and hence, provide the US with a motive for war?"

In the spirit of continuing the statement Pilot made before me:

See. Maybe I failed to express the subtleties in a obvious fashion, but that is why they are subtleties and not obvious things.

My statement was on the first page, the confusion was probably due to people not seeing it before reading yours. I understood it immediately.

What would space flight do to his old body?

Would he come back intact?

I think he should be sent to mars instead.

That depends on his health. John Glenn's last trip to space was at age 77. The biggest difference is that Glenn had flown many trips before, and was a Marine pilot before entering the space program. Ahmadinejad is old and untrained. His biggest danger, other than largely unproven Iranian equipment, would be human error.

I wouldn't think the immense G-force that will be applied to his untrained body will not do him any good.

Glenn had trained all his life and had the pressure applied to his body many times before.

I guess we will just have to get out the popcorn and watch the festivities.

Even if he died in flight, we won't know about it.

Iran will lie and say everything went fine and he is now on vacation.

Will this suffice?

Fair enough, the regime uses him the same. Adinnerjacket commits (political) suicide on a regular basis.

Well, it looks like if their Pres. is going, Iran's not monkeying around with this, that's for sure .. though I think McCain phrased it differently ...

I hear the weather is quite nice on Venus this time of year. Nothing beats a vacation on Venus. I hear a lot of people love it so much they don't come back.

You might say the man is a lunatic!

Let's hear it for largely unproven Iranian equipment and human error! Hip, hip hurrah!

Ahmadinejad says he is ready to be first Iranian in space | Reuters

This is not a satire article, Iranian President Ahmadinejad has actually said he is willing to risk his life to be the first human Iran sends into space. Assuming he is serious and this is not solely propaganda, what do you think his chances of returning would be?

Oh, I'm sure he will come back in one piece or another - however living is a different story.

Apparently Ahmadinejad doesn't understand you have to be an ace pilot and pretty much a genius with a wealth of knowledge to go into space and come back safely. I suppose he could just "go for a ride" however that wouldn't make him the first Iranian in space.

I would love to see what vehicle Iran has proposed would bring them to space, not to mention reentry. I suppose getting to space isn't that difficult, however coming back is.

All I have to say is that if Ahmadinejad's leg lands in my backyard I'm posting it on youtube and selling it on ebay.
