All guns are restricted in Chicago despite the laws.... If a cop finds a gun on you they will take it regardless if you have the proper paperwork... You'll never see that gun again. I suppose you could pay a lawyer to attempt to get it back but that would cost more than the gun, so you would be better off just buying another one.

Those are the games they play here in Chicago.

Please post that Youtube of " Barry the Girl" trying to throw the first pitch..its pricless... there is no doubt he cant shoot a gun.... I dont think he can drive a car... maybe he can drive a camel... : )

Ok get caught with a gun in Chicago and see what happens.

Funny how my buddy got caught with a gun and they took it despite the fact he had all the required paperwork. I was there and you know what the cop said? "we'll give it back to you once you go through the 'required' channels." that pretty much means: "sue us then pay the city administrative costs to get your gun back - then we can do this all over once you get it back."

Hell, several years ago they took my gun, wrote me a court summons and then dropped the case. It was obvious they just wanted my gun and since they had it they had no desire spending the money to prosecute me.

Define "caught". Frankly, I don't see how someone can be "caught" with a gun here unless they are in the process of doing something stupid..

Our gun laws are bad enough without making up a load of bull**** and pretending it is true.

Ironically my buddy was trying to break up a fight and when the cops showed up they searched everyone and found his gun. The best part is when they took his gun he wanted it back and the cops threatened him with a disorderly conduct charge for being pissed that they were taking his gun. They pretty much told him to take the "legal route" to get it back - which costs time and money despite the fact he legally owned that gun. Chicago police basically stole his gun then said "sue me."

There is no point in being a legal gun owner in Chicago. They won't do anything if you don't legally own a gun except take it, and even if you do legally own a gun they will take it anyway...

What the hell is the point? you're losing your gun either way - well unless you're a LEO or security guard, then they'll look the other way.

My friend wasn't carrying a shotgun - it was a .38.

Why the hell would anyone walk around with a shotgun for self defense unless it's a sawed-off? it's not practical. The most practical solution for self defense is a handgun which are banned in Chicago despite the fact the SCOTUS ruled otherwise.

It doesn't matter what type of gun you have - if police see it they will take it.

You could call to report a crime and you could allow cops into your house and if they see your gun they will take it and tell you to pretty much sue to get it back, which costs you time and money.

It's not my fault your freind didn't realize that it's illegal to carry a concealed handgun Chicago, or all of Illinois for that matter. It sucks, but it certainly doesn't do **** to support your claim that "All guns are restricted in Chicago despite the laws...." in response to my claim about shotguns.

The problem is that I LIVE in Chicago and I know for a fact that what you are telling me is a load of horse****. It's not about supporting "tyrannical ideas", it's about knowing the difference between what is true and what is made up bull****.

When people make up a load of bull**** to try and argue against unjust laws that affect me directly and I also oppose, they do me a disservice. Made up bull**** undermines the intelligent arguments against our gun laws because it makes all of us who do oppose those laws look like idiots who can't present a factual, coherent argument against the laws.

As I keep saying, there are plenty of legitimate arguments against Chicago's gun laws. Making up total nonsense and pretending it's true doesn't do a goddamned thing to promote those legitimate arguments. I support those legitimate arguments, but I won't support idiocy simply because it is intended to achieve the same goals as those legitimate points.
