    Geeeeezus.....

Anyone who has been convicted of a felony is banned by federal law from ever possessing “any firearm or ammunition." Specifically a person "convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year" cannot possess any firearm in any location. 18 U.S.C. 922(g)

It is a crime for a felon to attempt to purchase a gun, just as it is a crime for someone to attempt to purchase illegal drugs. Since your claim is that Brady stopped 1.9 criminals from owning firearms there should be 1.9 million arrests, trials and convictions. I have countered that with NUMEROUS sources showing that the reality is...the VAST majority of people 'stopped' are stopped temporarily due to some administrative snafu, failure in paperwork, etc.

My claim, which I documented with DOJ statistics, is that 1.9 million have failed the background check. What you have not done is prove that failing the background check, and therefore not making a gun purchase, is a crime.

Even if true, which I doubt, how many felons and others who would not pass a background did not even try? And why do 1996 statistics matter?
Apparently, your 'experience' is not the same as Attorney General Betty Montgomery's 'experience'.

Dancing monkey's don't count as a thorough response.

There is great potential is reducing violence, if we make free association and free speech restricted.
Why not go this route too?
Because then liberals would not be able to call conservatives all kinds of nasty things and visa versa.

You do realize that using this stat is rediculous right? Most of the people in our prison system is due to victimless crimes. IE crimes where no violence occured. The majority of our prison inmates are pot heads. Release those people and I would bet that stat would change to about the middle of the statistics board.

Those murders in Chicago only make it more obvious how lax our Federal laws are. Keep pointing it out.
