Maybe you should actual read the news and not some Daily Kos liberal piece . We here in Texas value honesty, hard work and incentivizing the private sector plus no STATE INCOME TAXES....and we have a excess of revenue. Texas basically exist to counter any liberal meme lie by proving the polar opposite is effective.

You can keep your misinformation and nonsensical rhetoric and joblessness and union thuggery as more and more liberal blue plague states slink away into default.
You are in serious serious denial dude. Look at the changing demographics in Texas. Just because you want to deny it...doesn't make it so. Texas will absolutely be in play as a swing state in 2020 and very quite possibly in 2016.

Its larger than it sounds. In billions of dollars the change was -40bn. The govt just spent more than that in one bill for disaster relief.

Your opinion noted, especially those who are economically challenged and living off the state taxpayer dole.

Current Government Expenditures did increase by 10.2 billion.
    BUT break it down:
    Consumption Expenditures: -$42.4 billion
    Transfer Payments: +$8.3 billion
    Interest Payments: +$43.8
    Subsidies: +$0.5 billion

ONLY Consumption Expenditures are part of the GDP equation because they're the only category that can be considered Production.
Gross Investments (+$2.1 billion) are also part of the "G" component so the total G component was +$8.3 - $42.4 = -$40.3
Source: BEA interactive NIPA tables Table 3.1
So when talking about components and contributions to the GDP, it is entirely correct to say the major cause was a decrease in government spending.

Contributions to the -0.1 change in the GDP
    C: +1.52
    G:-1.33
    I:-0.08
    NX: -0.25
Therefore, since the world has still/Much good, but much less good than ill,
And while the sun and moon endure/Luck's a chance, but trouble's sure,
I'd face it as a wise man would,/And train for ill and not for good.

Obama economic policies have led to the worst recovery from a recession in the history of this country and the meager economic growth is terrible based upon the potential and the foundation of our economy. Obama is a full blown liberal who believes in cradle to grave coverage and a large central govt. Govt. spending constitutes about 20% of GDP with the other components making up 80% most of it consumer spending. We have a consumer driven economy and cuts in govt. spending should have been offset by increased consumer spending especially in the fourth quarter but weren't. That is because the consumer is scared to death of Obama economic policies including potential for higher taxes and greater govt. control.

To tout this very poor economic growth even if there wasn't a cut in govt. spending is typical liberalism whose history shows high unemployment, high debt, and low economic growth.

And govt spending propping up the economy is hardly a good thing. The money they spend has to be taken OUT of the economy in the first place, or borrowed which casues inflation.

Exactly, what far too many don't know is that govt. spending is paid for by taxes which take money from the American consumer. Obviously many who promote bigger govt. are part of the group that pays zero in Federal Income taxes to pay for that govt.
