Guns are not allowed on college campus in Texas, according to the news story I read.
Very little is known at this time; almost nothing in fact. A staff member of some kind was wounded, and someone identified as a student. Allegedly another shooter escaped and has not yet been caught; it is not known if he is a student.
Considering how the media tends to get details and even basic facts flat wrong in early reporting, I think attempting to characterize this incident, or score political points of either sort with it, would be unwise at this time. We simply don't know what really happened yet.
