That is also what was being reported on Dallas radio today as well.
OK so two men brought guns into a gun free zone. So what they were doing was illegal right off the bat then.

It does not however change the fact his evaluation is hyperbole.

Thanks for the update, I did not know.

Thanks for the local update Winston!

    From your link,

"authorities said, the shooting, at Lone Star College’s North Harris campus, centered on an argument between two men, at least one of whom may have been a student or former student. Three people appeared to have been wounded by gunfire, including a maintenance worker who was shot in the leg. A fourth person, who was not shot, was taken to a hospital with medical problems."

The suicide rate has nothing to do with guns. It has to do more with the stress of military life, combat etc. Nice try though.

The guys in the military most certainly do shoot their guns. Where have you been hiding, lol. A little war in Iraq and Afghanistan etc. Not to mention training etc.

This is an "excellent" reason for everyone on campus to have a gun.

The more guns out there, the more injuries and deaths. Folks, despite what the gun nuts want, we are no longer the wild, wild west where everyone carried a gun of some kind. Gosh, seems like someday we will be like Afghanistan or Iraq where everyone one carries an assault weapon. The NRA and gun industry would have a dream day= more profits. Who the hell cares about more deaths and injuries just as long as their "freedom" is not violated?
Things are spiraling out of control and it is up the the President and other responsible individuals to step in and say enough is enough. More guns are not the answer and that is the bottom line.

WOULD BANNING FIREARMS REDUCE MURDER AND SUICIDE? A REVIEW OF INTERNATIONAL AND SOME DOMESTIC EVIDENCE

    Attachment 67129742

Guns are just one among numerous available deadly instruments. Thus, banning guns cannot reduce the amount of suicides. Such measures only reduce the number of suicides by firearms. Suicides committed in other ways increase to make up the difference. People do not commit suicide because they have guns available. They kill themselves for reasons they deem sufficient, and in the absence of firearms they just kill themselves in some other way.

The wild-west wasn't as wild as you think:
Dispelling the myth of 'The Wild West' - Minneapolis gun rights | Examiner.com

In his book, Frontier Violence: Another Look, author W. Eugene Hollon, provides us with these astonishing facts:

    • In Abilene, Ellsworth, Wichita, Dodge City, and Caldwell, for the years from 1870 to 1885, there were only 45 total homicides. This equates to a rate of approximately 1 murder per 100,000 residents per year.
    • In Abilene, supposedly one of the wildest of the cow towns, not a single person was killed in 1869 or 1870.

Zooming forward over a century to 2007, a quick look at Uniform Crime Report statistics shows us the following regarding the aforementioned gun control “paradise” cities of the east:

    • DC – 183 Murders (31 per 100,000 residents)
    • New York – 494 Murders (6 per 100,000 residents)
    • Baltimore – 281 Murders (45 per 100,000 residents)
    • Newark – 104 Murders (37 per 100,000 residents)

Why is it that y'all simply disregard the possibility that some idiots are just plain prone to violence?

I know that the anti gunners don't believe that any of these laws are going to be successful in getting guns off the street because they still like the idea of cops having them. Why, if you can't manage to create a safe environment simply by passing laws do you expect me or anybody else to give up our right to defend ourselves on equal terms with the aggressors that you KNOW are out there?

I swear, if I ever end up in a shooting situation I'm going to grab the closest gun grabber to me and use them for a meat shield while I quickly google up the appropriate law to get the shooter to stop.

Access to a weapon has nothing to do with someone committing suicide. I mean you can step out onto the road and get hit by a tank. Ease has little to do with anything. So I suppose we should ban rope so people cannot hang themselves?
