I've been going to gunshows for over 30 years. In that time, I witnessed one accidental discharge - it was a sheriff deputy who shot himself in the foot with his own gun.
I have rented tables at shows and gone to 100's of shows over the years. The rules are always the same. All guns are checked at the entry door to verify they are unloaded by a police officer. All guns are strapped with zipties so they are made to be unable to function by the police officer. Anyone found with a loaded gun is escorted out of the show and arrested. Any person with a rented table found with a gun loaded or not ziptied is escorted out of the show and barred from ever renting a table again.
Regardless, every gun should always be treated as if it were loaded.
