The notion my question and concerns are "fear-mongering" is downright ridiculous and nothing more than a deflection of an honest and rational question.

Now answer the question or shut up.
If Chicago banned guns, and assuming no one challenged that law (a HUGE assumption), then I'd either move or follow the law. I guess IL doesn't have the same state laws we do? KC or St Louis couldn't do that. State law takes precedence here.

But, again, I find it highly unlikely to happen.

MOST gun show vendors run alarm sensors that have to be deactivated when a firearm is removed but that is for anti-theft protection. But chamber blocks? Never seen them.
You don't go to the range much then I take it?

Who in Germany would ever have believed that nut, like Hitler, could ever come to power?

When the wefare state goes broke, note that I said WHEN not IF, we will see if the gov't supported sheeple will remain calm and starve quietly or must then be "controlled" by those that seek to keep what they are so sure that they now own. The liberals know that the more gov't dependent folks that there are, the more they can ask of you in taxation to keep them calm, fed, comfortable and controlled. The less guns/personal defense force that you have, then the more dependent upon that gov't that you will become, for your very life.
Considering the government is mostly run off corporate money and popular opinion I find your rant very funny. Politicians have no personal interest in controlling anything except the next election as much as possible. If popular opinion wanted everyone carrying guns and a tank in every driveway - and the Megacorps had no big objections - then that's the way things would be. If Megacorps wanted the same and there wasn't a popular rejection of it, the same would also be true.

And don't bother telling me about the 2nd, I understand the discussion, I'm just telling it like I see it - not the way I'd like to see it.

Corporations don't control anything - politicians do.

Competition forbids corporations from controlling anything.

Find me a monopoly and maybe we can have a discussion, until then it's all conspiracy (which I dabble in and agree with some of them).

All the time...was there last weekend, the weekend before, and the weekend directly following Christmas. Never used one, never seen one employed at a range, never seen one at a gun show, and Ive never seen one on a weapon at a gun store. OCCASIONALLY some will have on zip ties (though again...NEVER at a range).

You act like competition means businesses are always at odds with one another. That couldn't be father from the truth. Businesses need each other and often form loose coalitions to get things done. The only thing that stops business from taking over is that what's good for one sector is often not good for another sector. I've always said it and I'll continue to say it: A man with a million dollars to spend is more dangerous than a man with a machine gun. Why do you think I object to all gun control?

Yes everyone (at least every republican in the state) challenged that law, not only was it challenged but Chicago told the SCOTUS to piss off after they ruled their ban was unconstitutional.

It's been years now and not one single democrat has called bull****, yet if some fool like Obama issues and executive order and I don't handover my guns you will cry like babies.
