WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal officials say they are temporarily grounding Boeing's 787 Dreamliners until the risk of possible battery fires is addressed.

The Federal Aviation Administration said Wednesday it will issue an emergency safety order requiring U.S. airlines to temporarily cease operating the 787, Boeing's newest and most technologically advanced plane.

Ouch - this will leave a mark.

Boeing has been getting hammered over the last week or so for fuel leaks, battery fires, etc.

Could be that they are getting like Microsoft, and testing after release...
 
Aircraft safety guidelines are written in blood. Always have been. That this is not associated with a crash is actually a good sign. Usually the safety issue can be resolved fairly quickly.
