Judges say Calif. middle school teacher can't shake porn past, must not return to cla

Re: Judges say Calif. middle school teacher can't shake porn past, must not return to

I just pointed out how the distractions were fundamentally different.

Honestly, you guys would likely get better traction here by not denying the obvious. That there is a clear difference between needing to imagine something and it being easily accessible to everyone.

Sure , a hot teacher can cause a distraction in class, that hot teacher getting gang banged on gap whores 15 would go beyond that

Sure I can tell you the difference.

The difference is that one is real and the other is imagined.

Hey guys, I finally figured out what the real, classroom-experience difference is. I get it now!

Since she really WAS in porn, the kids don't have to IMAGINE her naked! Her pornographic employment history is causing their imaginations to atrophy in the same way that television does!

Whew, I sure am glad I figured that out! Thanks!

Re: Juporn past, must not return to cla

Because the atmosphere it's bound to create in the class room

Hot teachers create the same atmosphere. Distracted students.

Re: Judges say Calif. middle school teacher can't shake porn past, must not return to

Seven years is a long time? Please. I have no idea what various employers deem "back far enough." That's their decision.

Seven years is indeed a long time. It's longer than most of us spend in junior and high school, longer than most of us spend in college. It's not a lifetime, but it's a long time.

Seriously, how long is she supposed to wait before we as a society stop sneering at her and allow her to go on with her life?

As for it being "their decision," to me that reads like code for "if they want to be total judgmental prudes for reasons that they can't translate into actual meaning in her classroom expertise, cool."

Re: Judges say Calif. middle school teacher can't shake porn past, must not return to

With regards to woman A - the school can go right to the parents and ask why the hell their children are watching porn and/or bringing it into school.

With regards to woman B - She actually did porn - then lied about it on her application and hid any such information from her employers.

First, that's not a measurable difference in her classroom performance.

Second, is leaving a legal job you did 7 years ago off your job application lying?

Re: Judgesporn past, must not return to cla

Hot teachers create the same atmosphere. Distracted students.

Lol, only if you ignore the obvious differences between the two situations, but whatever ...

Re: Ju past, must not return to cla

Psst, maybe we are pointing to the lack of a real means to address the scenerio that actually happened, and how that would effect in class behavior.

Could you rephrase that? That looked like an intelligent response, honestly, but I couldn't follow what you said.

Re: Judgesporn past, must not return to cla

The distraction is still there and THAT is what the point is. So yeah, if you want to make her out to seem like a second class citizen because she did porn years ago, then whatever.

ake porn past, must not return to cla

Again, not with the imaginations of the students. However, please feel free to continue your illogical path. The fact remains that a distraction is a distraction and porn is not the reason. A hot teacher can be just as distrating in the classroom.

It seems some people feel that being in porn makes you a second class citizen unable to participate in society.

Yes, even in the imagination of students. In fact , if there wasn't a difference and preference for actual real images, there would be no porn industry

PS I really couldn't careless about her making porn. I'm just not going to adopt the silly idea that there isn't a difference between having to imagine someone naked and seeing them railed on film

Had they known of her background, they most likely wouldn't have hired her. There are a plethora of very qualified and dedicated teachers looking for jobs. She may be that person as well. However, had the decision-makers known of her background -- had she not omitted it on her employment application -- they would have no-doubt hired one of the other well-qualified individuals.

This is called accountability. You decide you want to earn extra money by ****ing on camera? Not only will you be paid well, but you may pay as well. These are the stupid decisions our young people make -- with absolutely no thought to future consequences.

You haven't answered my question -- how long is she supposed to wait before we as a society stop sneering at her and allow her to go on with her life?

I could get all pissy and cry about how you're re evil because you disagree with me, but I'm aware that such would make me look like a going wanker. So I try to address your arguments

Secondly, as already explained the nature and degree of that distraction are different. In fact, some might say completely different

Re: Juporn past, must not return to cla

Because the atmosphere it's bound to create in the class room

she is teaching kids

the class room is not a porno studio

the atmosphere is that of a teacher teaching her students

if only the judgmental in her community would allow it

This has nothing to do with "society." This is about a school district deciding to fire a woman who lied by omission on her employment application. I think, in any other area except working with young people, society has already stopped sneering at professionals (or anyone else) who has a, shall we say, colorful past.

Until someone breaks the internet? ****ty, but that's life

I didn't assume it was a porno studio. What I assumed was that she would be the "porn teacher" and be totally disrespected by the kids she would be trying to educate.

But I'm just going off my experiance as a kid.

Please don't reframe the question, just answer it -- how long?

Re: Judges say Calif. middle school teacher can't shake porn past, must not return to

I disagree. They would NEVER get over it. The real world situation in that classroom would be that the students were being taught by a porn star and no matter what the subject of learning, what they would take away from the class is... it was taught by a porn star. And guess what? Even if, by the end of six months or so, the kids finally did calm down a little bit and were actually able to concentrate on the subject matter instead of what their teacher could do to their.... well, you get the point, there will be a whole new class of kids to deal with the following year and it's right back to square one!

There is no way in hell I, as a parent, would put my kid in that environment.

TacticalEvilDan has brought up the best point. Would you have just as much of a problem with a teacher that looked like a famous pornstar? What about if a kid in school photoshopped a teacher's face onto porn, and spread it all over school and that was everything anybody was talking about? What real difference does it make if she were in a porn, or if they just thought she was?

That's the question nobody can seem to answer.

Again, what is the difference between something happening and people merely thinking it happened? It changes all manner of metrics, least of all how you can address the issue. In one scenerio your extremely limited because that was her

Why do you think I know the answer to that question? I have no idea. You? Apparently after six or seven years you can lie by omission. Don't know about others.

Was there a question on the admission application: "Have you ever worked in porn?" Otherwise, correct me if I'm wrong, omitting jobs on an application is not illegal. Pornstars also tend to work on a contractor style basis for single films. For instance, if I was paid $20 to mow somebody's lawn one weekend back in the 90's, should I have to list that on my job application?

The real problem here is the completely ridiculous attitude of parents. They have no problem with their kids seeing a million murders a day on TV, but heaven forbid they see a pair of breasts. Even better, their kids didn't see any breasts in school, just a teacher trying to do her job.

All of the reasons I've seen so far is that it would be "a horrible distraction to the learning environment". The question still hasn't been answered, how would this distraction suddenly disappear if the woman's twin sister was in the porn?

If she omits any job whatsoever, including her first job flipping burgers, is that a lie of omission?

I think the kids are the supposed issue. I know while I was in school such a teacher would have been constantly harreassed and disrespected

Then disciplinary action should be taken until it stopped. There are about a million gazillion things you can't do in school without getting your ass promptly suspended, trust me, I know. Why would harassment and disrespect to teachers be any different?
