What about Gray Davis, aka the Total Recall? He was a democrat, am I correct? And if I remember correctly, he was so incompetent as a governor that it led to a state of stupid frenzy in California that they had their choice between Gray Davis, Arnold the Terminator, Arnold from Diff'rent Strokes, Gallagher, and Screech, and they still recalled Davis. :

Yea, the best you can do when talking about the Success of your State is to speak metaphorically and in pretense of your hopeful outcome.

California's run by idiot liberals, who have put public sector over private sector and who will eventually suffer the consequences of their stupidity.

There is no way out of it because your ideology doesn't work. We're experiencing it on a national level.

    Failure of the democrat agenda.

California has $500 Billion in unfunded liabilities. California wil be losing Congressional representation in the next census, as businesses and people are leaving that cesspool. CA gained no seats this past census for the first time in decades. CA has the highest percentage of welfare moochers in all the land.

But Jerry Brown projects a "surplus" in the future. An all the libtards cheer. Not unlike Obama projecting only a $600B deficit in 2013, and unemployment under 6% ......

Is that a "Hip. Hip. Hooray" in liberal fantasyland too ?

It must suck to be a conservative and see one of the states that your hero’s/provider of your favorite Kool-Aid make a comeback, especially when said state happens to be the eighth largest economy in the world.Eat your heart out.Jerry did it with spending cuts and a raise of taxes.Kinda like BO is going to do it and the National republican might as well change the name to the Whig party.

Yes, the Democrat haven't stolen the car. We don't need to; its called democracy. We also don't need to suppress voters of the opposite party, or spy on our opponents using government funds. Heck, when Republican did that, they still failed.

I really don't know what alternative dimension you live in, but the Democratic Party has, historically, been around for longer than the Republican Party. The modern Democratic Party has been around since FDR, still longer than the modern GOP. You guys have been around since Reagan.

The thing I don't understand, I've never seen anyone bitch about budget projections when its from a company like Samsung or Morgan Stanley. Heck, I'd say they're even more likely to use sneaky accounting methods. Their necks are especially on the line.

You're presuming to know what a great deal of people are thinking. That's the height of arrogance. If you were actually that smart, or even close to that smart, you wouldn't be whining about how you think the world should work on the internet.

Well, since according to you, we've never even been in the front seat of the car, the only people who could have led us down this path is the GOP.

Wait, Washington is a ‘conservative’ state??? Ok, maybe compared to CA in a relative sort of way.

Re: Jerry Brown: California's deficit is gone

Other than noting that California has made marked progress in combating its near-term deficits with its tough austerity plan, one still has to be careful. Revenues can still diverge materially based on economic peformance. Progress has been achieved, but hard work remains.

In the medium- and longer-term, California's big challenge will involve reducing its health- and pension-related liabilities. Currently, California has an enormous unfunded actuarial liability in those areas.
