pharmacist shoots and kills potential assasin and robber

I would get roughly 2 calls like that pretty much every day. There would be more instances where people were trying to fill early without any story and gave up when we told them "no." I've heard almost everything. "My dog ate it, my baby spilled it in the toilet, I'm going on vacation, I ran over my bottle etc." The most horrifying one was when a patient told me that her baby had eaten 87 of this woman's oxycodone pills. The pharmacist immediately stepped in and adamantly demanded that the woman take her child to the ER immediately. The patient said "nah, she's fine. She has done this before and lived." Needless to say she did not get a replacement for the pills her baby "ate." I've personally dealt with 2 instances where a parent claimed that their infant/todler took a dangerous/lethal dose of their medication and said that their kid didn't need medical attention because they'll be fine. It's an obvious lie, but it also horrifies me and part of my mind believes that an innocent child might die due to a failed drug addicted parent that refuses to seek help for their baby.

Just curious, but do you work in healthcare? I don't want to compromise your privacy so there is no obligation to answer.

This is stupid as ****. Show me one mass killing where the perp came with one clip ? Show me one mass shooting where the shooter was intimidated by any possible restriction on clip size ? They all chose soft targets, and fired, and reloaded, at will. All you are advcocating is restrictions on the law-abiders.

An assault rifle is a rifle that has burst or auto.Magazine capacity and the ability to eject a shell is irrelevant. As far as I know no assault rifle was ever used in a mass shooting and I am pretty sure its pretty rare for one those to be any crime.

Yes, work in a cardiology clinic. I deal with all those calls too. But at least with you guys you can tell the patient they will need to contact their physician to obtain a new refill. We have to be the bad guys then. Sometimes I tell them you are just going to have to rely on Tylenol as you would be coming of the pain pills in a couple days anyway.

And sometimes it may be a legitimate accident with their pills but you have to go with your gut feelings. I also know there is a problem of the spouse using the patient's Lortabs.
We will often let their other physicians know too that the patient is a drug seeker.

Have heard them all including someone broke into their house and the only thing they took was their oxycodone. Don't even get me started about people wanting to get disability or more time off of work. Not being a hard ass but sometimes, Really? Didn't mean to do a thread derailment.

why does someone who obviously knows less about firearms and tactics than my 14 year old son get off telling me what I NEED

and NEED is irrelevant

and you ignore the fact that every CIVILIAN law enforcement agency in every major city issues 30 round rifles to street cops

It's not a question of perceived "need". I'm not a criminal. I am not looking to burst into someone's life and destroy it. I only want to be able to defend against such to the maximum of my ability, and in accordance with my rights. Why the **** do you want to limit me ? Do you think for one iota that the bad guys give a crap about your desire to pass a law ? How stooopid are you ?

You didn't serve. You do not know evil. But yet you want to facilitate it.

why did you dishonestly compare a complete shell (rifle) including some far bigger than the intermediate cartridges that are in 30 round magazines with the projectile of a shotgun shell

what does a #4 buck shot ball weigh. it is a .24 caliber

how about a M193 5.56 NATO bullet (55 grains) its a .22 caliber

I used to shoot 50,000 rounds a year. I have taught at two of the most respected firearms defensive academies in the USA. I own most of the stuff that gun haters tend to suffer disruptive bowel syndrome thinking about:mrgreen:

I'm an auto mechanic. Last time I was in a hospital I saw some scary looking tools. They looked like in the wrong hands they could be very dangerous. I can kind of relate; I fix things, they fix things. How qualified do you think I am to go in to that hospital and remove all the things I think are overly dangerous?

OK, how about if I'm on a committee?

I'm thinking if you have the opportunity to stop a crime in progress you take a moment to ask the would be victim who they voted for. If they answer it wrong, well, just reholster and walk away. 911 will surely be there in time.
