Up to 65 percent of pregnancies in the military are self-reported as unplanned, according to a December report by The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' Committee on Health Care for Underserved Women.
Nearly three-fourths of all Navy pregnancies were unplanned, according to a recent parenthood survey conducted by the service. Of those, only 31 percent of the couples were using birth control at the time they conceived. With pregnancies involving enlisted servicewomen, 70 percent of the fathers were also in the military

There are no Conservatives, it's an extinct creature. Speaking as someone that retired from the U.S.Navy with 25 years of service, you are an embarrassment to the service.

And for everyone else, please do not what navy pride says seriously. the United States Navy is full of honest, dedicated members that serve to protect the Seas. There will always be a few bad apples in the bunch, as np has so successfully proven.

Thanks for your service but I will not make this argument with a shipmate........I only served in the Navy for 21 years but was stationed on 6 ships.........I was only a CPO. I should have stayed in and made E9 but there were a lot of factors involved.

You bet. I was a reservist in the Marines until I was activated for Desert Storm and my interaction with the Navy was always positive. I think the Navy is definitely a great great organization... one that the Marines are a part of. As I already said in this thread, The navy is better now than it has ever been and I couldn't be more proud of them.

I served with a lot of women and for the most part they're every bit as capable as the men. There will always be the exception to the rule on both sides.

There are problems, women can't manhandle a P250 or a P500 as well as the heavy projectiles used in the gun. Just a couple of examples.........

That's simply not true. I've seen women handle them without a problem. I've also seen some men that couldn't pick up a 5in shell, and those are not very heavy.

A ship would be a particularly difficult locale for rape. But, then, all the claims he is making about rape on ships and pregnancies made on ships are all stuff our anti-military pacifist OP friend just makes up anyway.
