Re: Tom DeLay Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison

The sentence comes after a jury in November convicted DeLay, a Houston-area Republican, on charges of money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering for using a political action committee to illegally send corporate donations to Texas House candidates in 2002
Even a jury of Texans knows a criminal money launderer when they see one.

Well you are after all stealing their money and playing robinhood with it, you do after all attempt to legislate your flippin opinions, you are after all obsessed with what other people do and believe you have the right to legally control others individual choices.

I'm a libertarian and I absolutely despise progressives for the few aforementioned reasons among many..

You want the government to enforce how YOU believe people should live, when I don't want any government intervention in any way shape or form...

To progressives like you it's: "individual bad, government good, collectivism good."

Then your politics isn't libertarianism. It's closer to anarchism. The rest of your rant is just ridiculous Glenn Beck drivel.

Yeah, if it's one thing we know, it's that all generalizations about all conservatives are always fair but it's wrong to do that with liberals. Thanks for playing the race card. I actually hadn't seen it in awhile.

Rangel broke laws, he evaded taxes, not to mention was living in a taxpayer funded home (fraud), not to mention several other "unethical" things that may not have been illegal but certainly unethical.

This is all funny anyways considering that democrats claim people should pay their "fair share."

Hey look kids, a tea partier pretending sound tax policy is like Delay's illegal money laundering.

That's all tea partiers have left: empty-headed memes like this.

    Wow some standards...

The best is why Rangel was censored, but you probably don't know why.
They're all corrupt because the system is designed, or I should say the system isn't sophisticated enough to keep up with the various ways one can corrupt itself, anymore. All these libbies pinning you down on a off-hand comment is just silly. They MUST know that both parties try to get away with as much as they can, and like big business fat cats always seem to avoid criminal prosecution. You're right though about one thing; it does at least appear as though republicans are held to a higher standard. Republicans seem to self police themselves, whereas Democrats seem to appluad themselves for their inginuity for not getting caught for so long. Both parties prefer to have their caught and exposed members simply resign and then the problem will go aways, problems is that it seems as though it's the republiucans that are the ones doing the resigning, but folks like Rangle, and Pelosi keep on a truckin.

I am at a point now where we need the military to take over, relieve everyone of their duties, hold several consitutitonal convention-referendums, and tighten up the langauge in the constitution holding our representatives to a standard we all hold ourselves to. The list that needs to be addressed is vast and long, but we could put them all down on a ballot, and ask everyone to show up and tell us how they feel. Measures that gain a 60% majority are sent to the states to ratify. Among them would be specific language that severely punishes corruption, allows for a smart and fair process for elections, and campaign spending madness and the list goes on, and on.

Of course that kind of talk is seens as extreme, and I can appreciate where some might think that it is so, however, how can we ever expect the law makers to police themselves when every opportunity they've had to do so is ignored? Hell IMO even the SCOTUS needs term limits, if nothing else than to reflect current philosophical viewpoints consistent with newer understandings. I'm not suggesting a Coup in any real sense, but if someone has a better idea of how to fix our nation and it's political endemic corrupt structure, I'm all ears.
