Re: Tom DeLay Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison

I think liberals are smart--they work with the media to gain favorable coverage and appear more "mainstream" than conservatives.

You think Obama didn't actively work to exploit this system?

Why can't the Repubs put forth a candidate who can play the media the same way? Is Mitt Romney (fan of "sport") really the best conservatives can do?

to an extent you are correct, you both have said that, and I agreed. It is the commentary that goes beyond that simple fact.

Did you really accuse me of partisanship, yet not see that your own answers are purely partisan?

Did you really try and make this about your hurt feelings over Iraq and say that we aren't nation building under Obama? What in the hell are we even in Afghanistan at this point for then?

Did you really say that Obama handled Sandy well? Watch this...

Did you really say that BP didn't measure up in terms of crisis handling?

Did you really say Bush did things that warranted the media scrutiny, but Obama has not?

What world do you live in?

Continuing Bush's nation building in Afghanistan, a nation Obama said he would focus on and many like myself agreed with(remember Bush let it deteriorate there), is not the same as creating the problem.

And no, I said Obama's vacations didn't warrant the same attention as Bush's did. Keep within the context of your own question. Obama as warranted and received media attention. He has merely not made as many bonehead mistakes as Bush.

And yes, he handled Sandy well. Compared to Katrina, he was master class.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

Are you completely unaware of your own bias? Honestly, I just see you excusing everything Obama does while condemning everything Bush did.

No. I'm answering the question posed. I have made no excuses for Obama. None. I don't blame the media, or a republican conspiracy, or Glenn Beck. The things Obama has done poorly, he did them poorly.

But it's always just worse when a Republican does them. Lol.

No, Bush, one republican, was worse. Nixon was worse than Kennedy as well. And Bush sr was really pretty good. But the point here is blaming the media is making excuses.

Yet you can't bring yourself to find an instance where a Democrat is actually worse, can you? Just own your bias is all I'm saying. Don't rationalize it away by saying it really is just worse when the other guy does/says it.

Oh, and TPD, I know what you're going to say to this so, y'know, there's really no need.

However, although Obama tried to place more attention on Afghanistan with his surge, he even screwed that up, not listening to what the Generals on the ground saying they needed, and reducing those numbers, directly resulting in more deaths in Afghanistan under Obama's term than Bush had in Iraq....Where is your damned body count on that one Joe?

And no, I said Obama's vacations didn't warrant the same attention as Bush's did.
No, you're right. They warrant MORE attention....They certainly cost more, and there are more of them.

Keep within the context of your own question. Obama as warranted and received media attention. He has merely not made as many bonehead mistakes as Bush.
Oh, I am within my own context, it is you making excuses for "the One".....

Master Class liar.....I have family that lost everything from the Rockaway's....They haven't received anything other than $1500. emergency housing stipend....That is since it happened how many months ago? You don't know what you are talking about. Did you even watch the interview with McGrath? He disagrees with you.

I have you and j for that. Frankly, no president, not even Nixon, bothered me as much as Bush. Has nothing to do with him being a republican.
