Except movie stars are not necessarily the ones seeking out these tax breaks. Rather, it is the movie executives who are.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

Oh quit your snide bitching and read once in a while:

The OP was selective in choosing what business sector got something and left out what he didn't want to acknowledge and you just lapped it all up simply because you saw an opportunity to throw stones.

Why? It's a significant development of our civilization's culture, a money maker, and continues to export American philosophies or culture abroad (however often they may go into counterculturalist sentimentality). The idiots in Hollywood are still of use, just as the ones who are in power of the studios have actual economic and political clout.

Corporate welfare is great if it helps your industry and horrible if it helps the other guys.

Yeah, we don't hear the Libbos cryin' about the billions in subsidies the wind energy industry gets. They've been getting those subsidies for 20+ years and still can't stand one their own, without the subsidies.

Instead, we hear pissin'-n-moanin' about oil and gas subsidies that don't even exist.

....or the OP which is conservatives pissing and moaning about Hollywood.

I'm in favor of eliminating ALL corporate welfare. How say you?
