Al-Jazeera buys Current TV from Al Gore.....[W:187,319]

Gee, why would someone be like: "well, I don't care if it is a totalitarian dictatorship without human rights. I think they have a valuable perspective".

Why?

I think I know!

In English?

Well this morning it was and the homepage is almost the same as the world section on CBC or is that the propaganda wing of the Canadian government.

I meant your post.

No I am not a Muslim. Secondly most of the stuff on their homepage when i checked this morning was form Egypt not the Hamas controlled areas, like most other news sites.

Saying its the almost the same as the CBC isn't really doing Al Jazeera any favors and although its English news is not heavy with propaganda the Arab version certainly is, and I think we can judge by that where their heart lies.

Once Al Jazeera English gets a foothold in the western media you can bet it will gradually become more and more similar to Al Jazeera Arab, heavily leaning towards Islamic propaganda. Why else would it exist?

They wanted to give the Arab opinion on world events and in the process became one of the best all around sources. They are already pretty popular being broadcast in every country but the U.S.. They can't become like the Arab one because it's all Western reporters and Western produced programming.

Ah yes.

Grants paranoia about everything muslim.

There is nothing so precious.

Yes, but I am looking towards the future. There will always be western reporters either sympathetic to the islamic cause or who will be paid enough to broadcast what they are told. But there is no way Al Jazeera will remain neutral in the years to come.

They have remained so up to this point. They have a staff of well known non-Islamist journalists, the only way they could be like the Islamic network is if they fired everyone. Then it's not worth watching anymore.

They may not have to fire everyone, though they might. But I can't see the point of an Islamic network setting out to promote diversity. It's never happened before.

Well there has never been a network to do it before.

It's not possible for you to hate him that much. He's White and has an American-sounding name. What more could you want  ?

That's racist.

Go to the website right now and pull some Qatari propaganda for me.

Go to the Website and Pull some Shia Doctrine to show us how Al Jazeera English gives them any sort of platform. Also The Emir of Qatar with the Saudi Prince Owns almost All of Pan Arabic Television.

Alwaleed’s US$300m stake in Twitter is belief in media’s future.....

The decision by Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal and Kingdom Holding to make a US$300m strategic investment in Twitter is based on the prince’s instinct that social media will transform the entire media landscape in the years ahead.

“Our investment in Twitter reaffirms our ability in identifying suitable opportunities to invest in promising, high-growth businesses with a global impact," Prince Alwaleed said.

Prince Alwaleed has a strong presence and influence in media through his investments in media and entertainment in the Arab world and beyond, like the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), in which Kingdom Holding holds a 29.9pc stake.

The publications that fall under SRMG include Asharq Al Awsat, Al Eqtisadiah, Arab News, Hia magazine, Al Majalla magazine, Arrajol magazine and Sayidati magazine. Furthermore, other entities that fall under SRMG are Al Khaleejiya for Publicity Advertising and Public Relations and Al Madina Printing and Publishing Company. Furthermore, KHC is owner of about 7pc of News Corporation's Class B Common Stock.

Prince Alwaleed recently announced his plans to launch his privately owned Alarab news channel.....snip~

This is unfortunate....This more than any other knee jerk reaction to FNC from liberals, is an effective sign of manipulation by outside entities in our journalism.

Like I said any Country should be concerned about Foreign Entities and what they are broadcasting and programming into one's own Country. Course I haven't even looked into what Radio Broadcasts and or American Publications that have such behind them already. Nor any of those writers that stem from Foreign Sources that work here inside the US.

It is a propaganda arm of a totalitarian state. You don't think that matters?! Who gives a crap who works for the King, it could be innocent old ladies - the network is owned by a scumbag dictator.

Is Murdoch the prince of SA or "Emir" of Qatar?

Is there anything that you will not equate with Fox News?

And they own Fox News as well... ups!

Try again 5-7 %.....and you think they Own Fox News? Not quite and not even close! Now how much does he own of MS media?

My guess is that it was an investment, and if AJ tv took off, may be pulled altogether in favor of putting that money into AJ America.

Actually it is quite a lot. The Murdoch's do not survive as head of the companies without the backing of Bin Talal. The Murdoch's also only own a minority of the stocks.. voting stocks too. So those 5-7% are very important.

And dont forget.. Murdoch is a foreigner as well and only got American citizenship because non-American's can not own US news organisations.
