Yep, me too! I'd like to see a law mandating performance based pay for ALL members of the House and Senate. No more Continuing Resolutions. If the Hill can't work out a budget they don't get paid, period, at all, until an annual budget is passed.

Both parties are holding the citizens of the United States hostage. They are ****ing us over. In fact, the Fiscal Cliff is just another crisis created by the powers that be. It could have been avoided long ago. Long ago. Both parties are up to their necks in complicity and guess what? American continue to vote the same bastards and the same parties back in office!

The only reason Washington may come to some SHORT TERM agreement is because China has much more power in Washington than Americans have - because China owns much of America - and China has made it clear to Washington that they had damned well stop ****ing around with China's money. And so both parties are compelled to find a short term compromise.

I should be more specific. keeps people from seeing an increase in income tax. As i stated, the bill is certainly not perfect. But wouldn't you rather see one opposed to both? I am simply pointing out it could have been worse for the middle class.

The haggardness of poverty is everywhere seen contrasted with the sleekness of wealth, the exhorted labor of some compensating for the idleness of others, wretched hovels by the side of stately colonnades, the rags of indigence blended with the ensigns of opulence; in a word, the most useless profusion in the midst of the most urgent wants.Jean-Baptiste Say

So, he will avoid the fiscal cliff without getting it. Now match that fact with the comment I questioned.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

Conservatism has officially become irrelevant. It has nothing to offer America and its future, which grows brighter every day.
Government Spending is what grows an Economy?

What was GDP Growth last quarter after 6 trillion we didn't have was borrowed/flushed down the toilet the first 4 years of Obama's miserable failure of a Presidency

neither side is happy?.. .horsehockey.....Democrats/liberals got exactly what they wanted and they compromised on nothing.

taxes were increased on the rich....spending wasn't addressed at all...the unemployed got benefits extended.. and the death tax was increased... among other Democrat demands.

there is no reason for any Democrat or liberal to be unhappy with the bill... their entire fiscal agenda was fulfilled, with the exception of cutting defense spending and increasing entitlements.( those are supposed to happen in the coming days.)

that's a cool factoid.... and rather meaningless in light of the fact that the US does, indeed, have a debt ceiling.

we hit that ceiling, yet again, yesterday....16.3 trillion.... no more borrowing until the limit is increased ( which Obama is supporting once again )
the treasury is going to free up enough to keep going for the next 2 months.

one day i hope to see someone say " no more" and stop the uncontrolled spending and borrowing... i'd also like to see a unicorn... I have a better shot at the unicorn than i do with seeing spending brought under control.

But there are benefits. (Get 'em while you can!)
