900 dollars a year is hardly a bribe in the world of politics

I know. I guess it makes more sense that he just wants to increase spending for the sake of it.

Because we still have no fiscal cliff deal, 33% of current spending is on credit, we'll need to raise the debt ceiling again in a matter of months, and ACA's about to add costs with no guarantee of increased revenue (especially when they're considering delaying the implementation of the medical equipment tax).

In other words, it made absolutely no financial sense to end the freeze.

    Maybe aggregate demand.

Well the Koch brothers have made bigger bribes to Republicans so I have to think that a raise for them is a big no. Since the speaker has been so un productive he should take a pay cut along with the rest of the do nothing republicans

I don't know if the demand for services provided by Congressmen has increased enough to justify a change in wages. In other words, I don't think the market had anything to do with it.
