Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted to hospital with blood clot following con

She's really not what most would call an accomplished politician. I do wish her to get well soon though.

She became infamous during her time as First Lady, became a Senator (though not incredibly influential), was immediately the favorite for a Democratic ticket in 2008, lost the primary in an incredibly narrow battle, was suspected to be Vice President to keep the two camps happy, became Secretary of State-hasn't caused much controversy until just recently while still maintaining a high profile, and is still seen as a possible contender for the 2016 campaign as she is still heavily popular.

I would call that accomplished.

Distinguished? Yes. Accomplished? No. Besides getting elected senator on Bill's name, what has she accomplished in politics?

What exactly am I supposed to respect about her. She's a political hack, nothing less, nothing more. BTW: I've never claimed to be a politician, accomplished or otherwise.

If she were nothing more than a hack she'd be on MSNBC or FOX News, or perhaps have a radio program pleasing the fancies of the masses. First Lady's, Senators, and Secretaries of State need be respected.

First Lady's, Senators, and Secretaries of State need be respected.

No they don't. Especially the senators and Secretaries of State. They're public figures of their own choice, they don't get automatic respect, and no one NEEDS to respect them.

Public service ought to receive its respect and your leaders deserve it as soon as they walk into their office. They make key decisions, and unless someone cocks it up beyond belief during their tenure they deserve more respect than the lot of us. Their decisions are paramount.

Sorry, but no one "deserves" respect. You have to earn it.

Now I would agree that the office should be respected, but the person holding that office does not "deserve" respect, and they don't "need" to be respected.

She earned it. The office extends to the person occupying it. If you had any respect for the office you wouldn't be so readily willing to offer such awful commentary about the woman's looks, nor would you downplay her stature.

She earned it? From what, Benghazi?

And I never downplayed her stature, and my comments on her looks were about her personally, not the office, which in fact does not extend to her personally. Now you're making things up.

If you want to talk about State: From the first year of her stay at State onward.

And yes you did. Those comments on her looks are disrespectful and ought to be discouraged about any high ranking Government official.

Aww quit the drama princess. I'm a voting U.S. citizen and I'll say whatever I wish about elected officials and their cabinet members. If you don't like my comments, then don't read them. Problem solved.

I'm not a drama princess, only someone who seems to respect authority and government more than you. I will certainly ignore from now on your liberal populist foolishness, however.

Good for you. The beautiful thing is, in this country your unconditional respect and adulation for all government officials is no better and no more respected than another person's skepticism and/or disrespect for government officials.

Anybody notice that nothing deals with where Bill is?

Blogs indicate he's on Santo Domingo at an exclusive resort to enjoy New Year's Eve festivities.

Did she earn it by lying to the faces of the families of the murdered victims in Benghazi when she told them it was because of a Youtube video?

Re: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted to hospital with blood clot following

Does it make a straightforward news story more interesting, like it's part of a greater, more sinister drama?

Edit: I have parents in their sixties, and the number of medical issues that befall them are so numerous it's like science fiction.

Is ABC News pushing a Conspiracy Theory?

I love how you clowns always rationalize things that completely go against the Collective Narrative when it's your side that brings up inconvenient questions.

The narrative is that anyone who questions a State Dept. that lied to the faces of the families of those murdered in Benghazi would NEVER mislead the public about anything else or something. If you question Government, you are a CTer, even though we know 4 Americans are dead due to at the very least Hillary's incompetence and negligence. Why should I respect an incompetent buffoon whose incompetence cost American lives? Her department was warned repeatedly, yet she did nothing. Her only response was to lock an innocent man up in jail, and lie to the faces of the families as their bodies cooled in the caskets next to them. That's sociopathic behavior on Hillary's part. Why should I respect that?

So I ask again, is ABC pushing Conspiracy Theories or is that title only reserved for people you disagree with politically?

Edit: Apparently it's NBC News. Not ABC. Even more hilarious given their hackish and dishonest history of editing audio and blaming the Tea Party for mass killings without any evidence.

He's probably with his girlfriend. Wouldn't you be if you were married to that?

Apropos the reporting of Hillary's illness, I found this description in the news:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, perhaps the most famous current female political figure, has fallen ill. "In the course of a follow-up exam today, Secretary Clinton's doctors discovered a blood clot had formed, stemming from the concussion she sustained several weeks ago. She is being treated with anti-coagulants and is at New York-Presbyterian Hospital so that they can monitor the medication over the next 48 hours," a spokesman for the former first lady said yesterday in a statement.

Ok, a "blood clot stemming from a concussion" would be a subdural hematoma, but they would never treat that with anti-coagulants, which would make it worse. A blood clot might form in a cerebral venous sinus, of which there is one behind the ear and between the brain and the skull, and would be treated with anti-coagulants, but that can't be caused by a concussion. So it's not making sense, but I tend to go with venous thrombosis because they are using anti-coagulants to treat it and because of how they described its location.

So if it's a cerebral venous sinus thrombosis the question is what caused this all of a sudden in someone of H's age? It comes down to cancer, severe inflammation due to an autoimmune disease, or a bad mastoid or ear infection. It's not usually a simple problem.

Merely speculation on my part, or course.

"That" is a human being, an accomplished and brilliant woman who is also the mother of his only child.

I'm not a Hillary fan, but damn.

Anothing high school response. When do you graduate?

Oh the irony.

Nice rant.

Re: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted to hospital with blood clot following

For those who can "connect the dots" between Benghazi and Hillary's recent health problems, you might be a good example of someone exhibiting patternicity.

Traditionally, scientists have treated patternicity as an error in cognition. A type I error, or a false positive, is believing something is real when it is not (finding a nonexistent pattern). A type II error, or a false negative, is not believing something is real when it is (not recognizing a real pattern—call it “apat*ternicity”). In my 2000 book How We Believe (Times Books), I argue that our brains are belief engines: evolved pattern-recognition machines that connect the dots and create meaning out of the patterns that we think we see in nature. Sometimes A really is connected to B; sometimes it is not. When it is, we have learned something valuable about the environment from which we can make predictions that aid in survival and reproduction. We are the ancestors of those most successful at finding patterns. This process is called association learning, and it is fundamental to all animal behavior, from the humble worm C. elegans to H. sapiens.

Unfortunately, we did not evolve a Baloney Detection Network in the brain to distinguish between true and false patterns. We have no error-detection governor to modulate the pattern-recognition engine. (Thus the need for science with its self-correcting mechanisms of replication and peer review.) But such erroneous cognition is not likely to remove us from the gene pool and would therefore not have been selected against by evolution.

And then comes this:

Clinton Injured, US Navy Seal Killed In Secret US Mission To Iran?
January 1, 2013 Gunny G provides what has to be the most way out “news report” I've ever read. It has to be perfect for you conspiracy nuts. What makes it more interest is that it comes along when other bloggers claimed she was in Santa Domingo – then shows up at the hospital in New York. Anyhow, enjoy!

The European Union Times is reporting a very different story about Hillary Clinton than what is coming out of U.S. mainstream media. I have no way to gauge the veracity of the EUT story, but merely publish it here for the record

On a serious side, could medical problems like this remove her chances to trying to become Queen Rodham?
