I have family in coal-country Kentucky. When the coal truck drivers struck, anyone who drove was a target. Cut brake lines... trucks hijacked...drivers beaten...shot to death...run off mountain roads. It was brutal.

Yeah, it really is sad. These people I think watched Goodfellas, or the Soprano's far too often.

Actually, sadly I think it's the other way around. Goodfellas and Sopranos were scripted based on real world union behavior.

    When are corporate profits enough?

didn't you know, employees who expect increased wages for their labors are unreasonable

business owners who enhance their profits by decreasing the their cost of labor are capitalists
we are negotiating about dividing a pizza and in the meantime israel is eating it

Well, this is not entirely true bubba. I think you know that CEO's and directors of the Company are beholden to the shareholders, who are everyday people, people with pensions, retirees, and other investors...When labor costs become more than a bottom line can handle and sustain in long term health of the company then the line must be drawn.

that's not up to me, or you. Nor is it up to the people who work for the company who have no idea of the details of any particular company.

and that is the critical measure to determine what is equitable
you insist that the wage earners are greedy because they want more wages
while you insist the business owners are doing the right thing because they want more profits ... at the wage earners' expense
    the hypocrisy is palpable

Typical mistake. It is not at the earners expense...Unless you can show a direct correlation between increase profits, and lower wages from year to year without increased productivity.
