G.O.P. Leaders in House Pull Tax Bill, Citing Lack of Votes[W: 414]

Looks like the bohner screwed the pooch this time. What the hell, its only a speed bump that the media has labeled a fiscal cliff anyway.

<WASHINGTON – House Republican leaders abruptly pulled their fallback tax bill from the floor Thursday night, conceding that they did not have the votes to pass it.>

< The struggle to win Republican support for a measure that would allow income taxes to rise on a sliver of the top one percent of taxpayers telegraphed a grave decision for the speaker.>

< House Republican leadership aides made clear that if the bill passes, the speaker believes the next move will have to come from Senate Democrats and the president. Senate Democrats could simply take up and pass the House bill or amend it more to their liking and send it back to the House.>

    LMMFAO!!!

House Republicans revolted this evening and rejected Speaker John Boehner’s “Plan B” which would have extended the Bush tax cuts for everyone making $1 million or less, among other provisions. According to Boehner, he canceled a scheduled vote on his plan after it became clear he could not get enough support from Republicans for it to pass. The House is now in recess until after Christmas. <snip> BREAKING: Republicans Revolt, Reject Boehner's 'Plan B' | ThinkProgress

The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

    Interesting-

When the dems in the house couldn't muster the votes for their agenda the 'conservatives' hooted and howled over that. Can't wait to read the spin put on this one. This isn't the first time Boehner couldn't deliver his own party.

    Sounds good to me.

The right thing to do is for the House Republicans to pass a bill with substantial tax and spending cuts. Then depart and leave the One and his minions in the Senate to decide what to do.

If the House had caved on tax increases it would have been the end of the Republican party. If the Republican party chooses not to stand on principal they might as well be Democrats. With any good fortune this will be the end of Boehner and Cantor.

This gives me hope. I am grateful that Boehner lost on his intended sell-out.

Now we have to find a way to defeat him. We need someone with conservative principles. We need someone who is articulate. Boehner is neither principled nor articulate.

This is a very good evening for America.

I bet the tan man will be crying in his Merlot this weekend. Probably have nightmares of Canter taking his job.

I wanna see more of Rubio and Jindal.

Boehner sounds and talks like a drunk and that yuppie looking, Rocky Balboa wannabe, Canter needs a leather Village People outfit.

    Time to change stagecoach drivers.

I have come to see those citing the need to cling to their 'conservative' values as standing in the corner refusing to have an honest open debate on what the political leaders need to do for ALL citizens.

Sort of the hold my breath til I get my way 3 grader tactic...
