Can't know without the kids address. I'm just noting, however, that Sandy hook is a very small community, and new town is as well. The schools are all pretty close to each other. This one was chosen for some reason.

    That's a theory.

Very true and very well put. We will never know the real reason why and even if he had lived we may still have never known.

I have read very much the same thing and was going to post in a like mind.. It seems his mother was a real piece of work. Paranoid, obessed with the idea of some kind of catastropphy and possibly over protective. My question is that she took him out of school at some point to home school him, why? to protect him, because she objected to the course material, thought she could do better. I just can't get a handle on this part.

I do not think the distance to the school is relavant IF he was mid to low functional. It may have been that the school existed as a constant reminder of some "ghost' he was carrying around. He was obviously in an emotional rage and at that point even for him not "normal". Something had to be done, his emotional rage had be to quelled and the school was just the focus of that rage.

Where to begin. I may not be an expert but from the garbage you have posted I would say I am one compared to you. I am DD and therefore am most knowledgable about the situation and its tendencies than you are or apparently ever want to be.

just what we do or his family outside the home. Beyond that he is oblivious. Not be choice by 'design" that just the way it is. All a Aspie parent can do especially one who is Aspie themselves is help and try and help them learn from our experiences.

It is very hard to see my life repeated in his. That is why I am so passionate about this subject
I can't give you objective advice concerning your situation but I can pass along our choices that seem to have made a positve difference in our sons life.

We let our son Jacob know that there is nothing wrong with him, that this is how God designed him and we would have him no other way.

Introduced him to the long list of known Aspy Celebritoes and past Aspys like Albert Einstein and Alexander Grahm Bell.

Alot of the time he seemed not to be interested but it does make an impression and it will sink in.

We've taught him to proud of who he is, even if he shrugged off the advice or seemed apathetic ( as Aspies do when not on the subject of their current obsession ) it does have a positive effect.

Ive said things to him in passing when he was totally immersed in his favorite subject that I thougt bounced right off him only to be surprised much later when he remembered it to the word.

It does wear off on some kids too but I consider the extra time and extra effort involved in helping him a blessing and consider him a blessing too.

We've always have had a hard time getting him to eat anything other than Macaroni and cheese and bottled water.

Sound and tactile inputs drive them crazy.

To this day, ( I'm 43) I cant stand to wear jewelry, or have anything in my pockets. I cant stand the sound of boiling water or a the randomness of a crackling fire. I'll get up and leave.

Same with him but he cant stand the feeling of water hitting his skin. Wev'e had to almost perfectly match the temperature of a shower or bath when he was a baby to his body temp.

Now he does this on his own.

I am not asking for any. My son is 22 years old so we have been through the drill and then some.

Sounds real familiar. Not our situation but I have heard it before.

Gotcha, either way people need to be educated about these kids and understand the issues they face.

To think these kids would be broad brushed after Friday irritates me to no end.
