"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping,'" he once said. "To this day, especially in times of 'disaster,' I remember my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers - so many caring people in this world."

The central American narrative casts us as a nation of individualists, a people rugged and intrepid enough to go it alone. We love that imagery. Yet the republic's most fundamental tagline - e pluribus unum - means "from many, one."

That includes a one, yes, but also a many. And when death and tears and scenes of fallen children come calling upon America 11 days before Christmas, the many try to become the one, if only for a moment.....snip~

Hi, Americans, your GOP or Democrats administration will never take actions in gun controlling. because they got donations from gun makers.
Being a Communist state, like my country China, will solve the problem.

Greetings MrWu.....Welcome to the Forums of Debate Politics.

Did China stop violence with weapons being committed within and or around their schools? What about those that have attacked with knives, daggers, and swords. In China!

That should have raised a few red flags. However, we have no laws preventing someone from stock pilling weapons and amo that are designed to kill mass amounts of people. If those laws were in place, we act on situations when these red flags come up. I believe in the right of citizens to own guns, but it is time to start the conversation.
    The conversation started years ago.

And the results are in: gun control, like drug control, like alcohol control, like "illegal" immigrant control, like abortion control, are all silly ideas. Ban something, and a black market starts to supply the banned thing, making it more expensive but still accessible to anyone who really wants it. In other words, banning the sale/exchange of items are a silly idea.

And that's how the conversation ended.

Why? Is it not possible to funnel lobby money into the Chinese government?

FYI, thanks to post-9/11 legislation, for all practical purposes, the USA is pretty much just like China in terms of freedoms available to ordinary citizens.

I don't know the meaning of this sentence"Did China stop violence with weapons being committed within and or around their schools? What about those that have attacked with knives, daggers, and swords. In China"

Some kind of knives are prohibited, which are called "Controlled knives", carrying these knives is illeagal.

The most severe crime in China is battles between gangsters with broadswords, Crime without gun will cause less death or wound.

Yep, and our search engines are routinely blocked from displaying various search results, with the US government leading the way. . .

U.S. leads Google censorship requests #thecircuit - Post Tech - The Washington Post

Of course, just about any Internet "block", including the ones in China, can easily be circumvented w/proxy tunnels, and they routinely are.

Still, it's the inconvenience that's the problem, the US is falling fast in the world freedom rankings, making us wonder when we'll get a chance to move to a free country (i. e. Iceland).
