Two Gunmen at Newtown, Conn., Elementary School Shooting, One Dead [W:449/490/584]

Say what you want, but none of those things are as quick and effective as a gun.

I beg to differ.

A car can take out many people at once without needing much accuracy.... provided said targets are in a centralized location.

Besides.... these are 5 and 6 year olds we are talking about.....

Exactly, in a centralized location. A gun is still more effective.

One of many reasons 'conservatives' hate liberals, didn't say the only one. 'Conservatives' have a rather impressive Things We Hate list... :peace

But it's the one you mentioned...so it's the one I responded to.

You...bringing up your imagined "Things We Hate" list is nothing more than a non-response. Try addressing what I said to you.

So?

Then when the gun is banned.... are we going to ban the NEXT most effective thing when IT begins to create mass casualties???

And then the NEXT....

AND THE NEXT......

AND THE NEXT....

AND THE NEXT.....

AND THE NEXT.....

and the next.....

That nurse killed herself. Who knows if it was BECAUSE of the prank call or not.....

No, she killed herself because of her monthly cycle. Give me a break!

We COULD let the blood dry at least before the gun ban conversations start. But...also today...

"BEIJING — A knife-wielding man injured 22 children and one adult outside a primary school in central China as students were arriving for classes Friday, police said, the latest in a series of periodic rampage attacks at Chinese schools and kindergartens.

The attack in the Henan province village of Chengping happened shortly before 8 a.m., said a police officer from Guangshan county, where the village is located.

No motive was given for the stabbings, which echo a string of similar assaults against schoolchildren in 2010 that killed nearly 20 and wounded more than 50. The most recent such attack took place in August, when a knife-wielding man broke into a middle school in the southern city of Nanchang and stabbed two students before fleeing."

I agree, but people are already talking about it. Why not chastise them as well?

Also, you are correct that knives are effective too. However, you don't hear about school knifings all over the country right now, it's school shootings. If knives were on equal territory with guns we would see more of them. My point is that guns are more effective.

She was prolly offed by the royal family for leaking info :S Just sayin. Or maybe brits really do have that much respect for royalty.

I don't think guns should be banned, for the record. I think more needs to be done to prevent mentally ill people from getting their hands on them so easily, though.

On what grounds should this guy have been denied a gun?
How would "common sense gun control" have stopped this?

And if someone has no officially recorded record of mental illness???

Doesn't matter, bottom line is: the media creates all this mass psychosis and apocalyptic fear, and people go mad!

I expect multiple suicides around 21 of December, get ready for bad news. And yeah, **** the media.

For all the "people" and I use the word loosely, that want to talk about gun laws in spite of everything else. Connecticut has some of the most STRINGENT gun laws in the country. Case rested.

I wasnt chastising you. Sorry it came across that way. I'm...tired. I'm ready for a week with no radio, no internet, no TV, no news, no killings, no daily bloodletting. Im just...tired.

I just spent 2 weeks in Philadelphia. How the **** do people live like that. Every day shootings, stabbings, drug beatings. The last news report I saw this morning at 4:35 AM involved two thugs shooting two people in a subway car for daring to suggest they please mind their language around children. The media and 'average' America gets energized only when there is some extraordinary event like a mass shooting. Meanwhile on a much smaller scale this stuff happens every day.

Not personal. Apologies if it came across that way. Just tired.

I can only express sorrow and sadness today. May God bless and hold the victims at his side

As for any gun control debate over this, shame on those trolling that right now.

Exactly, in a centralized location. A gun is still more effective.

A gun is effective when more importantly, no interference from anyone to deter *said shooter*

My tears express your disappointment completely. What's wrong with people J?

Predictably pathetic, this thread is.

People were killed in mass regularly 2,000 years ago. There were no guns. Attaching every crazy madman rampage to the right to bear arms is patently stupid.

And this is not the day.

I can agree, that the media is a beast.

(The death of many is a travesty)

"The death of a million is just another statistic." ~Marilyn Manson

Seriously? My saying, "Now you are just being a bad joke," is an insult to you after you mention you not being able to smoke cigs in a bar is somehow a rational comparison to what happened today? No . . . I would say you insulted the intelligence of anyone who read your words here today. You are one of the most disrespectfully selfish people I have ever witnessed on the Internets.

While I do not officially ignore people . . . I do ignore people out of choice . . . you hit that list.

Well for those that do not ignore me.

There is supported evidence that smoking a cigarette will give me a terminal disease resulting in my death, perhaps before 'my time'. Also if I smoke in doors the second hand smoke could potentialy affect the health of someone in the same room in the same way according to unsupported evidence. Therefore my personal choice to smoke must be regulated to where I cannot smoke in public due to the danger to others.

Meanwhile, your personal choice to own a gun, which is a tool that has no other purpose on this earth but to adversly affect the health of everyone it is pointed at won't even be considered for debate just because we're all supposed to trust that you won't use it to kill someone. Well I'm sorry but I don't trust you because you have a gun which tells me you will kill someone and in the light of this and all the other tragic shootings this month alone as evidence, it is in fact gauranteed.

This means that your personal choice to own a gun must be regulated to the point that it be rendered inoperable due to the fact that it is a danger to others.

I don't think guns should be banned, for the record. I think more needs to be done to prevent mentally ill people from getting their hands on them so easily, though.

What can be done is already being done in that regard. If we could read the future not only could we deny them a gun, but we'd know they were going to have a break and prevent it altogether. But we cannot.

This is the by-product of the Liberal nanny state.
I see! Of course it's so clear now! Would you please explain your comment for the unenlightened how Liberals are responsible for continuous gun violence in the USA? I'm feeling like many people don't understand your point.

Yes, but you are forgetting that *said shooter* has multiple targets and a person with a gun has one; *said shooter*. People get shot by accident all the time. The shooter will always have the advantage.
