Two Gunmen at Newtown, Conn., Elementary School Shooting, One Dead [W:449/490/584]

I realize you don't like Obama and that's fine. To use this as political fodder for it is disgusting.

I'm not using it as political fodder at all

I'm simply stating the truth

Our Culture is bombarded with gore porn and mass murder from Hollywood every single day. We've been conditioned to devalue life. Morality and God are laughed at with scorn. I wasn't the one who started the conversation demanding rights be taken away. I'm merely responding. If people on the Left are so outraged that children have been murdered, then let's get to the heart of the discussion. .

The murder of innocent children

These kids were 4-5 short years away from what your President would consider acceptable practices had they been murdered inside the womb, or in some instances, even outside the womb

Obama In '03: No On Banning Late Term Abortions - YouTube

Who is the real extremist on abortion? | WashingtonExaminer.com

In the Illinois state senate, Obama repeatedly opposed efforts to require hospitals to care for babies who survived abortions. The bill explicitly and repeatedly stated that it in no way pertained to babies still in utero. These assurances, in an identical bill in the U.S. Senate in 2001, were enough to win the vote of every pro-choice senator.

The "legitimate medical procedure" involves delivering a viable baby part way, then killing her before the rest of her body emerges. Former Democratic Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan called it "close to infanticide

This is a sad situation. I can't wait for my Son's bus to roll up so I can hug him and make sure he is okay.....

Brother, that is exactly the same thing I am thinking. I can't wait to pick my boy up and just be thankful that I still have him. I am so grateful that my child wasn't in that school. I have seen a lot of heinous things as a Marine but that is something that would drive me over the edge. Losing one of my children would destroy me.

No doubt YOU have solutions. Why don't you express them? I'll be waiting.
There ARE many things that can contribute to reduce this from happening.

If you don't believe that, it would be pointless for me to list commonly understood practices/efforts to reduce this.

Really? I'm a smoker and all you dips who agreed to take away my freedom to smoke in a bar and pin lung cancer on my second hand smoke without even doing a canary test seemed to have a sound argument.

Seriously . . . now you are just being a bad joke. Smoking in a bar? Again . . . sometimes I truly wonder about people.

Thats because you're supposed to swallow the penis enlarging pill not stuff it in your ears.

If this is the level of discourse I have to put up with from Gun Control people....... Well.... lets just say you have already lost the debate.

That you see the root of violence as a strawman is exactly why taking away guns won't work. Keep on trying to buy their love and keep on having school shootings.....

I'm sorry, but as this tragedy clearly demonstrates, we can no longer sweep the truth under the rug with falsehoods and distortions such as these. You don't even know my position on gun control, and yet you claim to know it simply because you see the word "liberal" under my screen name. People like you need to stop sweeping the issue of gun control under the rug and let the public have an honest conversation about guns. That is all I am calling for right now, no more.

Nice one, bringing humor to a tragedy:lol:

I'm serious. It is a tragedy that could have been avoided but people have to have their guns .

Do you really think we can know what everyone is thinking at every moment?

I think you have some unreasonable expectations.
I think you need to learn how to read because I didn't say anything close to that.

Losing a child to an accident or medical condition is one thing..... Not that it doesn't hurt...... But those are things that just happen sometimes.

Losing a child to a ****ing homicidal maniac without the balls to pick harder targets and without the balls to try to live with what he did............. That would destroy me.

Remember that question back in the 90s--"Do guns kill people or do people kill people"? The answer is, both. It's a lot easier to kill with a firearm than it is with one's bare hands or a knife, and some people are far more at risk of killing than others.
And it's a lot easier to defend yourself with a fire arm a luxury the ten adults today where not afforded.

I've never heard of a gun...or any other weapon...jumping up and killing or injuring any person of it's own volition. So, your answer of "both" is incorrect.

Oh really? Let's see what happens when someone points his hand in the shape of a gun and tries to hit someone twenty yards away. Then let's repeat the exercise with a loaded .45.

If "guns don't kill people," then the results of these two exercises should be exactly the same.

People kill people. Guns kill people. Stop trying to sweep a basic fact under the rug.

The only solution to this problem is to make the public immune to violence so we dont feel so bad when these things happen. We need more Violent Movies, Violent Games and TV. Forget this Frankenstein stuff, we need more chainsaw massacres, we need more arms and heads cut off. Violence, Violence, Violence, We need to eat drink and sleep Violence, We need it in every house and around every corner. We need to start when the children are young.....start with their gameboys... I know people say this does effect people, but I think we just need to try harder...more Violence!!!

I think you need to learn how to read because I didn't say anything close to that.

Your comment came off as if it should be EXPECTED that we prevent these things all the time. No excuses.

Thats how I read it.

In reality you can't do that..... My neighbor could decide to go around the corner to the elementary school right now without any previous warning and start shooting kids and there would be no preventing that.

Grammar check plz...

Well, we know you are losing the argument when you start correcting Grammar.

I can understand if the post was nearly unreadable, but it is apparently only missing a slight spelling mistake and a comma. Big.... ****ing..... Deal.

My thoughts and prayers to the families affected :(

What an extremely horrible tragedy.

I'm just trying to make sense of what you said.

Completely inappropriate and unnecessary. WTF were you thinking when you posted this?

I was thinking that I was pretty damned upset that some 8 year olds had to go to school today and get killed because a bunch of mentally ill people with low self-esteem have to own a weapon because they're afraid of their own shadow that's all. And by mentally ill I mean that you all probably believe in god but not climate change even though one is right in front of your face and the other has never been seen.... ever.

That's not much of an answer. D you think I'm not sufficiently intelligent to absorb your response? Don't you even want to try or is drive by sniping all that you're doing here? I suspect that you have no answer that would hold up in a sincere debate. Prove me wrong, please.

Rocks kill people.

Screwdrivers kill people.

Alcohol kills people.

Candlesticks kill people.

Fire Pokers kill people.

Fishing Line kills people.

I can go on forever.

These are all tools that have been used to kill people by...... PEOPLE.

Without a person operating the gun, it is of absolutely no danger to anyone.

People kill people.

Corpsman here . . . I feel you brother. I took two of my grandkids to school this morning (ages 8 & 6), the reality that it can happen anywhere really hits home . . . that we would not have any power to stop it seems to be hitting me hard today. I've seen some stuff . . . but nothing that ever happened to an 0311 ever effected me like an ambulance run involving child's trauma. My worst memories . . .

Anyway . . . give your kid's a hug, and use this as a teaching moment . . . I know I will. I have a total of 5-grand-kids, and two of them are still a ways off from being school age. Soon, I fear there will be more than just tornado and bomb drills.

I'm just trying to make sense of what you said.

I wasn't even the one you quoted....

Jesus ****ing christ pay attention.
