I am all for protesting and even picketing places of business. But I have to draw a line at a person’s home. You would think there would be noise ordinances in residential areas. Find out where the organizers live and go protest THEIR homes.

    I'd pull up stakes,

and head for the middle of nowhere ...

which is where I currently reside.

Not gonna lie, these Philly residents have more patience than I would. I would take matters in to my own hands if the law can't do anything for me.

Speakers Blast Sound Of Baby Crying As Part Of Protest In Philly - Philadelphia News, Weather and Sports from WTXF FOX 29
PHILADELPHIA - It's a union protest designed to bring you to tears.
Residents at the Vista apartment building on the 2800 block. of N. 47th St. in Philadelphia's Wynnefield section are losing their minds over a recording played by protesters from IBEW local 98.
Last Wednesday, the union set up an iPod and loudspeakers that plays this recorded message: "Your community is crying for jobs, participation and fair wages." It's what comes next that brings a tear to the eye: an extended crying jag by a seemingly fussy infant.
The recording- which began last Wednesday- runs each weekday from around 8 a.m. to mid-afternoon.
"I know everybody says they've got their rights," says longtime apartment resident Jean Smith, "and that's fine. But don't we have rights too, that we have to hear this constantly- every day?"
The electricians are protesting the use of a non-union contractor to do electrical work on renovations at the apartment building.
Residents say they have nothing against organized labor making a point, but this?
"The crying of the baby- it doesn't give them no sympathy," says apartment dweller David Dickson. "It's not helping them."
Saundra Terrell agrees. "They don't seem to care! Even when we approached them nicely on the first day, they seemed to ignore us."

Where does one person's "rights" end,

    and another's, begin?

It's anyone's RIGHT to do things with/to their own property,

UNLESS it's inconvenient to someone else???

And there's THIS : If you think it's inconvenient to YOU?
WTF is it to the folks that are RINGSIDE?
Think they tore up their driveway in a diabolical effort to make the neighborhood a living hell???

When does anyone just say, "DAMN! Sometimes, stuff sux."

and just get on with THEIR lives,
knowing Full Well that one day?
THEY are going to need to ...
    in this instance,
    have THEIR driveway redone.

Everything is so ... SERIOUS these days,

and the ONLY person that seems to matter is oneself ~

    Oh, WAHHH! I can't take a nap!

Oh, WAHHH! I hardly can't figure how to turn my OWN flippin' music UP, so I can hear it!
(never mind the wireless headphones ~ I shouldn't be made to have to deal with other peep's probs!)

If I was those residents I think I would have been looking for a firehose or hooking up a garden hose to a sink and then blasting those so called protester's sound equipment.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

I'm not a fan of country music at all, and my husband is. His favorite band is Brooks and Dunn, and I loathe those guys. Something about their sound just makes my underwear bunch up. So every now and then, he'll sneak the CD in the player, and I'll give him a minute or two, and then I'll tell him, "OK when you are done, it's my turn. And I think I'll listen toooo........... rap."

    Bye, bye Brooks and Dunn.

    Good idea, sarcogito and jamesrage.

Either do the same to them (a loud infant crying) or destroy their equipment. They have to have rights. They have to.

Kind of makes you wonder what the cops/city would do to anti-union protesters who did this. Would their reactions be the same?
Only a fool measures equality by results and not opportunities.
