Ann Coulter Says GOP Should Give In To Obama On Taxes: 'We Lost The Election'

Pretty much what we have now.

See, socialism isn't a yes or no question. Everyone believes in socialism, government control, and regulation. It's just a matter of degree. You wont find many people who think we should privatize the military or police force, for example.

They conveniently define those out of their notion of 'socialism', but disingenuously. In the same way that it can be said government can 'do' military better than the private sector, you can argue that government can 'do' roads better, or charity, or whatever. By 'do', I mean "make generally beneficial". In some cases we are right to say government can 'do' better than private, in others we would not be correct. But, unless someone is willing to say that government can't 'do' anything at all better, then we are all 'socialists'.

And by the way, I know that there is some extremist who may see this and trot in here and take me up on my challenge. This will be a person to ignore.

Well everything Obama does these days is socialism according to a few people. Lol I qouted the wrong person. I wonder if Obama blows his nose is that socialism ?

Military is one of the 18 enumerated powers and is not socialism. Police is a local and state policy...not socialism.

So is the general welfare. Art 2. Sec 8. You lose.

What form of government do you suggest?

Ours. With a mixed regulated market. It works. What doesn't work is the crank tea party theories of unregulated market, plutocratic rule, and a weak federal government. We tried that, and got the Great Depression.

What does the Tea Party stand for and what do they want?

Socialism is not defined by which level of government enacts it, nor by whether or not it is listed in the constitution.

Hell yes we should. Let him do everything he wants. Let him raise taxes on everyone (which he has stated that he wants to do but the recession has stopped him from doing that) and raise the debt limit. That will effectively kill the economy and bankrupt the country and we can start over and rebuild.

America is like an 80 year old barn. It is weathered and irreparable. Let Obama throw his gasoline and match into the mix so that we can get to the business of rebuilding what the baby boomers destroyed.

Your plan sounds foolproof but why won't Bohner really do it? It's because when the economy starts booming they will not get any credit. Obviously he believes the opposite of you. What other explanation is there?

Because, like me, he doesn't actually want the country to fail. I only said that to illustrate that Obama's policies are harmful to the country.

Honestly you sound like a jilted drunk.

Progressives are for raising taxes on the rich so we DON'T have to raise taxes on working Americans. See the difference?

No. Obama has stated in the past that he thinks the majority of Americans don't pay their fair share.

You could have fooled me, it seems pretty obvious that he is just obstructing everything that might improve our situation. And it is despite his best efforts that the economy is a good as it is.

2% is hardly a majority or 3% of small business if you want to be a stickler.

What working Americans? Don't you remember, we sent their jobs to China.

shhh... there are still a few working in the shadows that Bain Capital either overlooked or just didn't know about...

Oh no, he's talked about raising capital gains tax, death tax, and dropping loop holes while he's already instituted new taxes on the poor and middle class through Obamacare. He's for raising taxes on everyone. He just likes to fool you by saying he'll cut your income tax. It's a card game, he gives you one card and takes two while you aren't looking and says you are better off.

Obama hasn't said he wants to raise taxes on everyone. I don't know where you got that from.

But we are comparing ourselves to other tax and spend nations that are also on the brink or actually failed. Isn't that a lot like the Philidelphia Eagles saying we are doing great because we have won more games than the Chiefs? The total number of jobs is down. The median income is down. Home foreclosures are up. Poverty is up. Food stamp usage is up. You are looking at one inflated number and saying "Yipee!" when the reality is this economy sucks. I, for the life of me, don't know why you are celebrating massive failure.

Do you have a 401K? Do you have stocks? Because if you do, Obama wants to raise taxes on your earnings.

Those are our major trading partners. who would you compare us to, Communist China?
You crack me up. We are coming out of the worst recession since 1929 and doing considerably better than our counterparts in Europe. And it is only beginning.

Still, Obama doesn't want to raise taxes on everyone or on all income. He just wants to raise taxes on income above 250K. I think that is reasonable. We have to raise revenue to spend on creating jobs. Cuttin social programs will not help the economy. The Bush tax cuts were not designed to be perminent to begin with.
By the way, I don't have stocks or a 401K. I've been spending what I had saved to help my daughter through her rough patch.

Dear conservatives:

If you won't listen to one word from Ann Coulter in that video, then there's really no point in having this conversation.

Ann may be considering changing sides since the rightwing noise machine think tanks don't have enough money anymore to subsidizes her falling book sales.

You all can have her.

Didya ever think you'd be telling someone they should be listening to Ann Coulter? It's funny that after years of blasting her, calling her all sorts of obscene names, saying things about her hands (which are a little freakish), all of a sudden, because she's said a few things people like, she has cred. Lol.

She gets credit for being the less insane one in that argument.
