Supreme Court will tackle same-sex marriage

Well I live in the south and I sincerely doubt that. As much as I doubt the wide net stereotype you cast of people in your region or mine. I'm quite confident that the people in mine won't be rioting or looting each other as in the OJ verdict as much as they did not yours.

Then this country is DEAD. America has failed. We have become nothing more than another member of the European Union. The Soviets won. Socializm reigns supreme and humanity has no more hope. I'm very sorry to hear that, because it will likely be the end of my existance as well.

Well I wish you a good night. I had no idea that homosexual marriage was part of the Soviet/Socialistic platform or goal or aims. Rather the opposite, but sure. When and if homosexuals get the right to marriage, instead of a collective sigh of relief, the citizenry will scream it is all due to the Soviets. Then riot and pillage. I guess.

It's a continuation of the Socialist agenda, which is a watered-down version of the Communism that the Soviets tried. One of the goals/aims of the Soviet Union was to destroy the Capitalist system and all forms of morality and values in the West. Two decades after their own demise, that goal has finally been reached. Unfortunately, you're probably correct that the majority of citizens will accept the new ruling like sheep being led to the slaughter. That's just proof that this country and its citizens no longer have any morals or values.

Not going to happen. At most, you will see a few protests and the occasional crazy firing a few shots at the local gay bar, but this fantasy of yours where people rise up en masse and riot because two dudes can now tie the knot is pure dreamland material.

Then, as I said before, this country is DEAD. There is nothing left to suggest that the american people are anything more than the same sheep that Europeans have become in the last 60 years. It also means that the last hope for humanity as a species has been snuffed out.

Tigger, you keep repeating this idea about America becoming more socialist and like Europe, but same- sex marriage doesn't have anything to do with socialism. I understand that you think in terms of black and white, but that doesn't excuse your argument.

I disagree. I believe a large part of the Socialist movement is the attempt to destroy the concept of morality and values in this country on every level possible. They push these ideals along the lines of "equality" as a means to get people to buy into the ideal that it is the Government's place to set the standards for what is proper in society, and thereby further their own Socialist ideals through the Government.

That's an interesting theory, but certainly there is nothing about same-sex marriage that makes it automatically lead to socialism , which explains why many non-socialists have no problem supporting SSM.

Exactly the opposite. Extending freedom is one of the biggest moral values that this country has. Those who fight against liberty and justice for all in favor of liberty for some are those who seek to degrade the morality and values of this great country.

On that we will have to disagree. The vast majority of Americans have already proven an inability and unwillingness to meet their responsibilities and duties as citizens and therefore do not deserve the Freedoms and Liberties that come with citizenship.

You are confusing stupidity and bigotry for morality.


Morality is not arbitrary, but a product of reason, instead. For those too stupid to apply reason, it may appear that this arbitrary prejudice is the stuff of morality, but unless a position can be supported through reason, it cannot be called moral. Many unintelligent people confuse social mores with morality, but the two are not the same.

Start asking WHY something is or is not moral and you might take the first tiny step towards a reasoned position.
