Its pitiful that you have to turn this into a partisan argument. Things are so polarized now that you cant agree with someone of an opposing party, no matter what they say. If a Republican told you that you were the smartest person in the world, you would call him a liar and tell him to take it back!
Retiring is not the same as living on the dole per say. So, you're making a very poor comparison. However, if you look into it, you'll find people only think they want to retire. People who have gotten wealthy all of the sudden and retired on the whole have not been happy.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

    Nice try.
Retiring= leaving the work force and living off savings.
Disability= leaving the work force and living off those who havent retired yet.

How they live is the key difference

The Housing Crash happened because of Clinton's over-regulation and Greenspan's idiotic monetary policy. Bernanke has quadrupled down (QE4 yay) on Greenspan's mistakes, so it's no surprise our "recovery" has been a joke. Obama's own economic team predicted unemployment would be 5.2% right now if we passed the Stimulus. How's that working out? So not even by your own messiah's standards is the current economy under his pathetic "leadership" acceptable.

On the contrary, the propagandists who comprise most of the garbage you call "The News" have to resort to gimmicks and misdirection in order to transform a turd of economic data into something that resembles actual progress. Have a nice day comrade.
Stop it, you're calling Bush's economy robust?

Actually, I agreed to no such thing. I merely pointed out how partisan and biased they are. A point you didn't object to. As far as your projection onto me, no, I don't agree with that entirely. I do agree that the unemployment rate fell because 350,000 left the workforce. But to that, I largely attribute retiring baby boomers. As far as your disjointed observation that the number of jobs created was "paltry," I don't agree with that at all. Growing at 146,000 jobs exceeds population growth. And even that 146,000 figure is impressive considering how many people lost their job because of Hurricane Sandy.

Unemployment under Bush for the lionshare of his terms = 5%

Unemployment for the lionshare of Obama's term = above 8%

Yeah, I'd say Bush wins that head to head.

OK, so you want to say that they are all retirees....Show me that in black and white then, and not just your own partisan wish to make your own argument work....

Being on disability, and having disability insurance are not the same thing.
