I will leave the follow the bouncing ball thing to you libs, you are very good at that. Everyone sing together now, read the words and recite them in unison.

Upset? hardly, I laugh at the hysterical nonsense you post. and when a far lefty or "progressive" calls someone or something "racist" it generally means the far lefty or progressive is unable to intelligently respond

The corollary, of course, is that Republican leaders say there won't be a deal if there are cuts to military spending, or if taxes are raised on the wealthy. All of these hardline positions need to go. We need to gain more tax revenue from whatever sources have more to spare, and we need to stop spending money in places we don't need to be. And we need to streamline our current systems to avoid waste and abuse. We need to do ALL of these things, not some of them.

Yet again without SPECIFICS on HOW, the GOPs rhetoric of what they "might" do or how much revenue it will bing in is meaningless.

When the GOP comes up with specifics then I think Obama should listen. And that goes for Obama also coming to terms that spending cuts with the Dems sacred cows need to happen.

Not enough revenue will be raised by this method.

raising revenues is not the intent of Obama's plan. Its slaking the butt hurt envy of those who blame the rich for their own lack of success. His plan is based on vote counting and pandering. He is afraid to raise taxes on the middle class even though that is where the taxes should be raised in order to deter the love of big spenders.

Great - let's try to get blood from a stone too.

When you cut programs, which we need to do as well, you mostly effect the middle and lower class. Why should the upper class, yet again, get a pass?

Cut programs and spending, but also raise taxes. And raising taxes includes the upper class, who are paying historically lower rates than they did for most of the 20th century.

I don't know why people want to make the rich out to be victims when they've had unprecedented prosperity during a time when the masses have struggled more than any time since the WW2.

So remember, when you talk of cutting spending you effect mostly everybody BUT the rich.
So why double down on those people when you talk of raising taxes?

Why is there some strange need to protect the most prosperous at the expense of the everybody else?
Small businesses will be drastically affected. We need small businesses to not have their taxes increased so that unemployment will go down.

More than with tax cuts. But we do need to raise taxes and cut spending. Perhaps once the posturing stops, they'll get to work.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.
