That largely describes the way republicans have behaved.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

Hey kids, that rightwing meme. We haven't seen it for a while. I mean how else could a black man become president if not by affirmative action.

    God, conservatives are intellecutally bankrupt.

Hear, hear. Finally Obama realizes that conservatives are thugs and nihilists. All they care about is enriching the rich. That's it. They are morally and intellectually bankrupt. The only way to beat them is to beat them, and to summon up the American people to finally overthrow these caterpillars on the republic.

another silly intellectually bankrupt stereotyping of conservatives. I sometimes think your posts are designed to make intelligent liberals look bad by association

Yep, if I were posting odious racist memes like yours, I'd be upset too about being exposed. Get used to it.

The fun thing is if there isn't, the miltiary will finally by drastically cut and the rich will have to pay 35% on the dividend income (like they should). Frankly that ain't so bad from a progressive's perspective.

Of course, the rich puppetmasters of the GOP can't tolerate that. So they're freaking out. It's hilarious.

Actually, Obama is smart not to negotiate. On January 1, he gets exactly what he wants--taxes to rise on the rich. Negotiation, for him, would only serve to negotiate away his own agenda. That is why he wont do it. Republicans have little reason to negotiate either. For them, compromise with the president is a just a negotiation on the size of a potential tax increase, not whether or not one will happen at all. That decision was made by the voters on Nov. 6. When both sides gain by a failure to reach an agreement, it is a safe bet one wont be reached.
