Looks like republicans may have had enough from the tea party. Could the republicans be ready to cave and increase taxes on the wealthy? Might we actually get a true conservative proposal involving less spending all around, and some increased revenue from the rich and spoiled? Have the republicans actually learned a lesson from this past election?

 There have been numerous GOP proposals which are exactly this. You can only see them if you WANT to.

The establishment has its knives out, but it's too late. The Tea Party and its rightwingnoise machine will win. What does Limbaugh and Beck say about this? What they say goes with the knownothing base. The GOP can only go in one direction and that's more and more extreme and absurd.

The Tea Party is the Republican's concious to the need to control our budget. I think Demint did a great job saying the $2.2 trillion deficit reduction offer by the "Republicans" wasn't enough. It makes obama out the fool for being so obtuse about really cutting spending and increasing taxes responsibly.

Bring on the cliffy....we need to show the left its over, there are no seats left, the music has stopped and they can't just continue to print and spend.

The republicans are not in a win win situation here. If they compromise with the Democrats and raise taxes on the wealthy, they face the Norquest punishment. If they do nothing, taxes will go up on everyone, then the democrats will propose a tax reduction on income lower than 250 grand. If the republicans don't vote for it, they will be seen as the party that caused everyone's taxes to increase. The majority of the US is in favor of raising taxes on income over 250 grand and is not in favor of drastically cutting social programs. The republicans dug a deep hole for themselves and if they don't start climbing out of it, they will bury themselves.

In my opinion those lawmakers removed from their key positions--Reps. Tim Huelskamp of Kansas and Justin Amash of Michigan, and Reps. Walter Jones of North Carolina and David Schweikert of Arizona--has woke up and noticed that there are a brand new breed of voters out there in voting land and it's high time the GOP quit bawling and get on the train because it's going to leave them behind. ;)

Limbaugh and Beck opinions are irrelevant, as are those of other entertainers.

If the regime would get off the backs of the private sector and let them make some money, we would see an increase in revenue.

Always these vague claims, rarely any specifics.

That's a laugh. Key Limbaugh/Beck demographic...

Republicans may have had enough but real conservatives have not. (R) big R Republicans are not conservatives or Constitutionalists.

No its not about anyone learning any lessons...both parties do whatever it takes to win, right now traditional republicans gave the teaparty a go, if the teaparty caught on with mainstream american boehner and everyone else would be right with them..but they failed and the leadership knows its either get away from the teaparty extremism or keep on losing.
The teaparty only got as far as it did because of the SUPER RICH pouring hundreds of millions into teaparty DONT RAISE TAXES ON THE RICH candidates just take more from the middleclass...it all went up in smoke...the superrich lost over a billion dollars collectively...time for the teaparty to get lost

Grover ****ing Norquist...hopefully his reign of terror over Republicans will soon be over as everyone sobers up and realizes that lowering taxes is not the solution to every problem including cancer, erectile dysfunction and gophers...

I don't think there's much appetite in the GOP for corporatism.

Nailed it. And frankly it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of folks.

You didn't get the memo, did you? Limbaugh runs the GOP. Whatever he says, no matter how odious, has to be genuflected to by GOP politicians. Remember the "slut" episode.

You just don't get it. The Real GOP is run by the tea party and subliterates like Palin.

Subliteracy and xenophobia, with a dollop of debt fetishism, is the GOP conscience. Perfect.

If that was true, then y'all would have heard from him by now. The (R) GOP establishment Republicans which run the GOP...not the tea party are no better than the Democrats and just as far left. They both want the same things...unfettered spending and big government.

He's the boss of the GOP. Get used to it. Anybody in the GOP who bucks him will be denounced by Limbaugh and his gang of subliterates and they'll lose the next primary.

I hope this fairy tale keeps you warm at night. Meantime, the GOP can only become more and more extreme, more and more freakish, with subliterate weirdos like Palin in the lead.

The rightwing noise machine doesn't have an off switch.

The specifics have been discussed ad naseum: Obamacare, the drilling bans, the list goes on.

I think you are confused with those who are registered democrats who are actually radical left and the republican are left.

Yeah, totally meritless tea party subliteracy.

I sense more confusion in this sentence than in me.
