You mean the other 47% that did not vote for Obama

Re: GOP leaders remove 4 from plum House committees

I see the Tea Party as representing a small group of rather bi-polar men (most of whom can't stay out in the sun very long in the summer) who rant about smaller less intrusive Gubmint for THEM, but pushing hard for Gubmint to go knee deep into the lives of women.

Rather than stand up for workers they seem to side with big business and rolling back benefits.

There are enough facets to the Tea Party- from pure astro-turf to real lemonaide stand outfits- to attempt to provide cover for whatever you think the Tea Party should stand for but bottomline is the rest of us see it as angry old white guys who do hate anyone not like them.

It does seem to be a continuation of the Religious Right movement, just adding taxes and a strong anti-immigrant stance to broaden the base. It is very discouraging to me, a former moderate Republican, to see so much energy put into restricting women's rights and hailing stay at home mothers over strong business women in the GOP.

But again the loss of seats in the Senate after DeMint declared his heart and soul was in turning the Senate Red, Karl Rove's miserable results and the Republicans losing seats in the far more populous House tells me the Tea Party message is too harsh and too intrusive for regular citizens.

That is a comfort to me... and yes I pay taxes

Not surpising at all that someone whose posts represent the very worst of right-wing self-aggrandizing greed and disdain would put up a picture of pigs.

It's also a copyrighted image belonging to Masterfile Corporation. I assume that Mr. Lawyer was careful to negotiate and pay for the rights to use that image before posting it. Or is he just a common criminal, given that the watermark would have been removed from a properly licensed copy?

Hit too close to home I suspect. collectivism is a diseaese and demanding tax schemes to slake one's own sense of failure is pathetic

If that were true, then the GOP would have nominated a tea party member to represent them. Guess what, they didn't.

Because Obama, suprise, is part of the establishment that is the current political machine that is composed of lifelong politicians (such as the Dem and GOP) that care only about their future pocket lining of their party.

This election was not about who was better for the job, but who will control where the pie is given to. Anyone who actually thought things would change for the better with a Romney or Obama presidency are sadly mislead. Until people wake up to the fact that the Dem/Rep duopoly have failed America, nothing will change. Only the recipients of the pie will change.

So the democratic party is represented by Nancy Pelosi? That is the end all be all Democrat?

No, Obama is right now. Which is why I haven't been a registered Dem in over two decades because they have picked people to represent the Dems that I don't agree with.

Obama is an easy pick, but I went with Pelosi because she is on the same level with the tea partiers. They haven't elevated out of the house. But BO is a fine pick as well.

Looks like republicans may have had enough from the tea party. Could the republicans be ready to cave and increase taxes on the wealthy? Might we actually get a true conservative proposal involving less spending all around, and some increased revenue from the rich and spoiled? Have the republicans actually learned a lesson from this past election?
One lesson they did not learn... all the House committee chairs are all white men. Not one single woman or minority.
