Arlington Cemetery pic sparks outrage, calls for woman's firing

No, you're not a loon or a moonbat. You're a libertarian. Really, nothing more needs to be said. Most of us read Rand in college and rejected it for the bull**** that it is. Some of you saw it differently and thought she was the second coming.

Sorry, Ayn Rand isn't my cup of tea. I'm not much into greedy social darwinists.

Those who are greedy are those who envy.

Success is not greed, entitlement is greed.

You obviously have a problem with success and you obviously believe (or have been brainwashed to believe) that you're entitled to more then you can produce for yourself.. You obviously have it in your mind that someone owes you something and it's the labor unions or the governments responsibility to get you what you believe is owed to you. Maybe you could achieve success if you dropped the whole "someone owes me something" attitude.

The question you have to ask yourself is: do you want peanuts or a peanut farm?

Quit speaking for others, and quit using the term "most of us."

You keep on proving you're a collectivist when you spew that "most of us" crap.

I bet you think you're so unique for playing follow the leader...

BTW, Ayn Rand didn't invent liberalism, hell the Magna Carta was manifested in 1215, apparently that isn't taught in college because they didn't when I went to the reeducation camp aka college.

It's strange, I think, what elicits extreme responses and what doesn't - it's like Russian roulette with public opinions.

Yeah, most of the fascists in this thread that wanted her fired for making a stupid picture are trying to do so out of some kind of fake support for the troops. Most of them will cry and whine when someone "disrespects" the troops, but haven't themselves lifted a single finger to help any of them.

It's easy to be a wannabe patriot from the comfort of your office chair.

Uh, no she shouldn't. This is the epitome of stupid.

These people that think she should be are absolutely nuts and are looking to ruin someone's life just for their own satisfaction.

I'd suggest you read the rules.

And chill out, for God's sake.

When the rules allow someone like you to lie about someones service, and intentionally misrepresent who they do and do not respect, than the rules are not only worthless but superfluous.

Chill out? You try to tell me I disrespect our military, and then imply that I didn't serve honorably, and you want me to chill out?

When I knock your teeth out, then I will chill.

Or you could just apologize for being so dishonest.

Oh I think using the term 'most of us' is perfectly justified in this case. Libertariansim as a philosophy has been thoroughly rejected by 'most of us', as witnessed by any recent election. Except in Kentucky, of course, but they still believe in Creationism there.

No, Ayn Rand didn't invent 'liberalism'. She didn't even invent 'libertarianism'. She merely perverted it. And found plenty of willing followers. Kind of like L. Ron Hubbard in that regard. Some folks will believe anything.

"Knock my teeth out"? You do have issues, don't you?

I learned about the Magna Carta in high school.

Yes. I have issues with someone lying and saying I disrespect the military.
Yes. I have issues with someone implying I did not serve honorably.

Now lets talk about your issues. Oh wait, I get infracted for that.

The problem is most US citizens who vote don't understand the concept of classical liberalism. Republicans (neo-cons) generally challenge our petitions to get on the ballot because they fear we will steal their votes. The weird part is that us libertarians agree with republicans on 90% of the issues, however when it comes to a few social issues (gay marriage, weed etc) the majority of libertarians believe states have the right to self legislate via the Tenth Amendment and republicans don't have any opinion on the issues other than "it's wrong" and the federal government should ban those ideas....

Sure, some "libertarians" are crazy anarchists but I'm not one of those kooks - I adore the Bill of Rights, and the Tenth Amendment states that states have the right to self legislate. So how does my following of the Bill of Rights make me "crazy?" The crazy people are the ones ignoring the Bill of Rights, the crazy ones are the ones banning stuff and writing laws and passing them without amending the Constitution. 90% of politicians today are unhinged lunatics that are obsessed with their own power and image who have nothing in common with the principals of our founding fathers, nor do they understand why this country was founded, nor do they understand why so many fled their homelands to settle here.

The truth is we have become what we originally fled from - authoritarian government - and when you support restrictions on the individual, and when a person cares more about their free "Obama phone" and are willing to give up their liberty for security and are ignorant to the ideas of freedom and democracy makes our nation as a whole and our identity as a whole lost. Libertarians are trying to preserve the idea of freedom and democracy.... Many times progressives ask "what are you trying to conserve" when I indirectly call myself a conservative and my answer is "classical liberalism" - our founding fathers ideas of liberty.

Apparently you find something wrong with freedom and favor government intervention - like governments telling (forcing) people they can only have a 12 oz soda, or that their kids can't have a toy in their fast food box, or that a man in Washington State has to pay for the healthcare of a man in Florida, or that it's someone elses responsibility to provide a cell phone or an apartment for another.

That's not freedom, that's not liberalism - that is authoritarianism.

So no - my ideals are not flawed like you believe or have been taught to believe - it's your ideas that a skewed by not understanding mine. I understand you - you don't understand me.

No, you don't understand me. Not at all.

I will give you credit for presenting your arguments in a mostly rational, respectful, and unemotional manner. I also give you credit for clearly believing whole-heartedly in what you say. I simply do not see the world the way you do.

Then what is your problem with the libertarian philosophy?

Do you not want freedom? do you not respect the Bill of Rights? do you not believe the Constitution should be amended for new laws (Obamacare as an example).

Dude, it is the Internet. This is where people flock just so they can insult others and get away with it.

Seriously... take a breath. Out debate him. It isn't that hard.

Do I believe the Constitution should be amended for new laws? No. Since we have hundreds of new laws every year, amending the Constitution each time would not be practical.

One of the problems I have with your philosophy is that you assume your interpretation of everything is correct. You decide what the Constitution means and anybody who disagrees with you just doesn't understand the Constitution. It's an incredibly arrogant attitude.

Something he has thus far been unable to do. At least he now gets a break to work on his debate techniques.

Oh, so now you respect someone's right to their own opinion? Or only when it meshes with yours? You're part of the same group of whiners that believe she should've been fired for her opinion.

And yeah, nice way to try to tie "respect" back into the debt crisis. Not even close to what caused it, homie.

Go find where I said she should have been fired.

I said it was despictable and a violation of the US Army code of conduct on their cementary grounds and they had the right to kick her butt out.

So back to your high horse and again tell us all you have done for the debt as you seem so concerned about it.

The sentinels didn't see her, so ironically, if Lindsey Stone hadn't uploaded her ever-so-clever photo, nobody would ever have known. Hoist by her own petard.

It was annoying, offensive to many, so she should be fired?

She's not in the service - there's a whole host of things my husband lives by that others don't. . . and me, too, being married into the military.

It's not a fire able offense - it doesn't bump her down to the level of a thief.

Why does this negate the overall 'she shouldn't have done it, what a dumbass' response to you?

My reply was to your post
Yes - seriously. It's stupidity and annoying but not a criminal offense.

My answer was that it was indeed a violation. If authorities seen her action they would have asked her to leave and if she refused she could be arrested.

Where in the hell did I say anything about firing her????

The firing - that's the overall issue I was discussing when you commented.

Wow, that's pretty ignorant. You realize civilians aren't held to the army code of conduct right?

Had the right to kick her butt out? She did it discreetly, I'm sure the guards didn't even realize. If the media and people like you hadn't lost their temper, hardly anybody would've even known about it. You created this situation.
