    No, that's not it.

    Good points, Mr. Hat.

I do not know how long he has served but a few terms will set you up with a pretty good golden parachute out of Congress in terms of benefits.

He was first elected in 1995. He's eligible for a pension, but not until age 62.

He had just won his 10th Term. Plus look how much they scam the Chicago people flying back and forth to DC. Sending their kids to Private school and so they can hang out near NY and that Media World.

Yep, Congressmen make sure they pay themselves well.

That's what we get for letting Democrats control Congress.

I'm not defending him. I think he is a joke who didn't fall far from the family tree. When I worked in DC, I had the pleasure of having a few conversations with a black man who had worked civil rights from inside the government during the 60's. He and his more recent compatriots in the community think of Daddy Jackson as a "pathetic joke of a leader" who rushes in behind to grab camera time but who sees things like him actually mentoring black youth and doing things to develop black voices or working in the community on a regular basis as beneath him. The part in quotes is as verbatim of his comments as my memory allows.

That is why it gags me when people say we should cut benefits to veterans when they do not get nearly the fat departure package the House does, let alone the Senate.
